Walt Disney World Introduces Express Transportation Tickets

Disney Bus
Credit: Disney Dining

Starting on December 7 for a $15 per person for single day (or $24 per person for multi-day), you can purchase a new add-on to theme park tickets that will provide express transportation via Disney buses.  This service will provide guests with a bus pick-up option from inside the parks using backstage areas to exit and get you to your next destination.  This will end up being faster and less walking than using the complimentary bus system.  This is an interesting new add-on, and will be interesting to see how many guests opt to use this mode of transportation.  Would you all pay extra for faster bus service each day?

Please see our article below 7 Things Walt Disney World Insiders Love About Disney Transportation by Brandon

When thinking about vacation, there are many things we have to logistically consider. When you come to Walt Disney World, transportation is not typically your first consideration. In many circumstances, you can use Disney Transportation to plan out portions of your trip, take in the scenery, or just sit back and enjoy the ride! While being carefree is great, there are many other benefits to utilizing Disney Transportation.

7. Convenience

Imagine driving for over a day or so to reach your long awaited vacation. When you reach your destination, are you excited about driving around more? Disney Insiders love the fact that you can park your vehicle and you do not need to get in your vehicle again until you are ready to head home. Disney Buses, Monorails, and Boats are at your service and will pick you up from your resort in 15 minute intervals.

6. Modes Of Transportation

While there are so many entertaining things in the parks, experiencing the different types of transportation can be super fun! Where else can you take a boat from your resort to a theme park? How much fun would it be to ride the monorail around Epcot while watching the excitement build in your family before you ever enter the park? The wide variety of transportation offered by Walt Disney World is unlike any other vacation destination.

5. Park Hop

Every minute is valuable when you are at Walt Disney World. Disney Transportation is a fantastic way to help you park hop in many cases. You can take the boat from Hollywood Studios into the World Showcase at Epcot or you can hop on the Monorail from Magic Kingdom to the transportation center and hop on the Monorail to Epcot.   Once you are done for the day you will not have to worry about getting back to your car. Simply find a bus headed to your resort and enjoy some rest and relaxation.

4. No Rental Car Needed

If you are flying into the Orlando Airport (MCO), there is no need for the added expense of a rental car. You can utilize Disney’s Magical Express to take you from the airport to your resort.   Then you can utilize the different forms of transportation to fulfil all of your destination needs.   People often ask how to save money on your vacation; this is one of the ways. You can save several hundred dollars by allowing Disney to do the driving! It not only saves money but time too. Who really wants to gather their own luggage and schlep it to the car rental area and then do the same thing backwards when you are done with your amazing vacation.

3. Magical Moments

While Walt Disney World is absolutely amazing, it can also be absolutely exhausting, especially for small children. Sometimes it is hard to stay all day and you may make the decision to leave a little early. While getting on the boat, monorail, or bus and heading back to your resort try to keep your eyes open. Many times you will get a treat and see a fireworks show that will be simply incredible. The timing has to be perfect, but it is truly a magical experience that Insiders absolutely love!

2. Disney’s Magical Express

One of the best things about a Disney Vacation is that it starts well before you leave your home. Before your trip you will receive Mickey Mail! If you are flying in, this will include luggage tags and some special tags that will identify your bags and that you will be taking Disney Transportation to your resort from the airport. Once you check your bag at your departing airport you will not see it again until you get to your room. That’s right, you land and walk straight to Disney’s Magical Express! No need on waiting for your bags, The Mouse has you covered and your bags will be directly delivered to your room.

1. Hakuna Matata

As our friends Pumbaa and Timon would say, “Hakuna Matata means no worries”. While you are at the most magical place on Earth, you should be as worry free as possible. This means you can let your hair down and live a little. If part of your group wants to enjoy the nightlife at Disney Springs, it’s okay! Busses frequently run until at least 2 a.m! When you enter World Showcase at Epcot it may hit you…TODAY is the day I drink around the world! If so, GO FOR IT, you don’t have to drive home. Perhaps you and the love of your life are having a great time at a nice restaurant in Epcot and you want to celebrate with a bottle of wine, no problem! Please remember to always be responsible, but also remember that you are on vacation! Disney transportation allows you to safely return back to your resort without having to deal with calling a cab or having a designated driver. HAKUNA MATATA!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
