The Planet Hollywood Observatory is a restaurant in Disney Springs where you get to dine among the stars. It is located in the Town Center area of Disney Springs within a huge globe structure that you can’t miss. The restaurant is a table service location with a menu that was created by celebrity chef, Guy Fierri, and others. It looks like the restaurant location will be expanding in order to add a quick service option for guests who don’t have time to enjoy a longer, sit down style service. Walt Disney Parks and Resort has officially filed the necessary permits with Orange County for the new addition.
Â
The permit describes the work as a “Quick Serve Restaurant.” The permit also goes on to stay the following about the work and how it will be completed as, “Interior alteration for a new restaurant within an existing restaurant.” Also, based on the permit, it looks like Disney would have a year to complete the work. We don’t have any dates yet for when we can expect the work on new quick service area of the restaurant to begin or, more importantly, when we can expect the location to officially open to guests.
The opening of quick service versions of popular restaurants has become a popular trend at Walt Disney World, particularly in Disney Springs. So, we aren’t surprised to learn that Disney would move forward with an addition like this.
What do you all think about a Planet Hollywood quick service option?
