Walt Disney World frequently closes various attractions in order to complete refurbishments, upgrades and changes to different aspects of the attractions. We have learned of another major closure coming to the Liberty Square area of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The Liberty Square Riverboat will close for a lengthy 6 month refurbishment. The iconic attraction in the land is scheduled to begin on January 8th, 2018 and run through July 19th, 2018. The Liberty Square Riverboat is currently scheduled to officially re-open to guests on July 20, 2018. This also means that during this time there will be no parties or special events taking place on the Liberty Square Riverboat.
We haven’t heard any details as to what the refurbishments are expected to be or if the changes will be drastic. We are glad that we at least know that the Liberty Square Riverboat isn’t going away permanently and we will see it return in all of its glory. Guests will still be able to visit Tom Sawyer Island during this time, at least as far as we know.
Who will be visiting Walt Disney World and miss out on riding the Liberty Square Riverboat during their vacation?
