Walt Disney World Celebrating the Opening of Solo: A Star Wars Story at Disney Springs

Solo: A Star Wars Story has finally made its big debut to guests.  The movie is being shown at the AMC 24 Theater within Disney Springs.  With the opening of the newest Star Wars film, Disney Springs will be celebrating all weekend.  Guests will be able to build a model of the Millennium Falcon through Monday, May 28th at the Lego Store, located in the Marketplace area of Disney Springs.  Over at Exposition Park there will be a live DJ playing tunes for guests to have a fun dance party.  You also have to check out the photo props for great selfies to commemorate the occasion.  The kiddos will also have the opportunity to participate in Star Wars craft experiences, too.  The crafts will be conducted from 2 PM to 7 PM through Sunday, May 27th.

There will be a special button for Solo: A Star Wars Story handed out while supplies last.  They will be handed out at AMC 24 Theater, Star Wars Galactic Outpost and Star Wars Trading Post.  They started handing them out on Thursday, May 24th, so it is possible that they could have already run out by now.  It is still worth checking out, just in case!  You can also go ahead and check out the movie while you are hanging out in Disney Springs, too!

Don’t forget that Star Wars: Galactic Nights will take place Sunday, May 27th.  This special ticketed event will feature a variety of Star Wars characters, entertainment, experiences, food and more.  It is the perfect event for an immersive Star Wars experience.

Who has seen Solo: A Star Wars Story already?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
