Epcot will be having a major celebration this year! The park is celebrating its 35th anniversary since the park first opened on October 1st in 1982. The park will have special merchandise available for purchase for all the guests that are in the park on October 1st, specifically for the celebration. The merchandise is all an “I Was There” theme and made with retro patterns and logos from when the park first opened back in 1982. Cathy Dawson said this about the collection, “For this collection, we honored Epcot’s rich heritage by including Figment from the Journey Into Imagination attraction on all of the ‘I Was There’ items,” explained Cathy. “He’s been at the park since the early days of Epcot and has delighted many guests throughout the years. This retro-inspired collection complements the other 35th anniversary merchandise guests will find all year long.”
Guests that are in the park for the celebration will be able to purchase themed merchandise like shirts for kids and adults, a hat, an ornament, a pin, etc. These merchandise is so much fun and a great way to commemorate the celebration!
Guests will be able to find the merchandise at a “pop-up” shop that will be located in Future World at the Art of Disney location. The merchandise won’t be available on the Shop Disney Parks app, so only guests that are actually in the park will be able to purchase the merchandise, so you will want to get it while you can!
