We reported previously that Walt Disney World would be completing a refurbishment at the very popular, Chef Mickey’s, from July 28th through August 13th. Â This refurbishment effort would have caused the restaurant to be relocated to the convention center in order to keep the restaurant in operation during this time. Â We have now learned that the renovation effort that was planned as been officially cancelled. Â The restaurant will experience no changes in operation and will remain in it’s current location.
We don’t know what the renovation was planned to be, but it appears that Disney either cancelled the effort or figured out a way to complete the work without impacting the daily restaurant operation. Â The location is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner services and is constantly booked. It is one of the locations at Walt Disney World that can be very difficult to get a reservation for due to the popularity.
While you dine, you get to enjoy meet and greets with favorite characters like Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald in their chef attire. Â You also get to enjoy fun music and activities all while the monorail periodically comes by overhead. Â The entire location is full of Disney magic right from one of the first resorts to open at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
I am sure guests during this time with reservations will be excited to learn that the renovation is cancelled. Â Did any of you out there have reservations scheduled during that time?
