We know. A restroom closure is not exactly our usual content.
We are more of a “what should you eat at Pinocchio Village Haus” publication than a “where are the nearest restrooms” publication.
But we were at Magic Kingdom today and we noticed something that is genuinely useful to know before you find yourself in the Tangled area urgently needing a men’s room and discovering a construction wall where the entrance used to be.
What Is Closed and What Is Still Open
The men’s restroom in the Tangled area of Magic Kingdom is closed for refurbishment as of today, April 13, 2026. A brown construction wall is covering the entrance. The women’s restroom in the same location is open and unaffected. The companion restroom in the area is also open.
If you are considering using the companion restroom as a workaround for the closed men’s room, please be thoughtful about that. Companion restrooms serve guests who need them for accessibility reasons and those guests should have priority access. It is not the right backup option for guests who simply need an alternative to the closed men’s facility.
Disney has put signage on the construction wall pointing guests to the two nearest alternatives. Here is where they are.
The first alternative is through the Adventureland breezeway. The second is near Pinocchio Village Haus. Both require a short walk. Neither is far. But both require knowing where you are going before you need to go, which is the entire point of us writing this today.
Why This Is More Useful to Know Than It Sounds
We are a food blog. We think a lot about timing. When to eat. How long the waits are. Whether your 12:30 reservation is going to hold up if the ride you wanted runs long. All of that timing math gets more complicated when a restroom stop goes sideways because the nearest facility is closed and nobody in your group knows where the next one is.
For families with young children, a closed restroom at the expected location is the kind of small thing that can derail a moment in a way that is completely out of proportion to how minor the problem actually is. You can avoid that entirely by knowing in advance that the Tangled area men’s room is offline and the nearest options are Adventureland breezeway or Pinocchio Village Haus.
For guests with health conditions that make restroom access more time-sensitive, the advance knowledge is even more valuable. A short walk in a known direction is very different from a frustrated search in an unknown one.
The Practical Adjustment for Your Day
If you are visiting Magic Kingdom this week, note the two alternative locations now. Adventureland breezeway for guests moving between Fantasyland and Adventureland. Pinocchio Village Haus for guests deeper in Fantasyland. The Tangled area women’s restroom and companion restroom remain open.
Disney has not given a timeline for when the men’s room will reopen. The construction wall and signage suggest active maintenance work, but the duration is unknown. If you are doing a multi-day visit, check the current status each day because some of these shorter maintenance closures resolve faster than you would expect.
And for what it is worth, Pinocchio Village Haus is a perfectly good excuse to stop for a slice of pizza while you are in the area. We have opinions on the menu there and we are happy to share them. That, at least, is fully within our lane.
