Vacation Costs Rising: Universal Orlando Hotels Restore 5 Fan-Favorite Resort Perks This Summer

Summer travel season has arrived at Universal Orlando Resort, and so have the rising vacation costs that come with it. Guests heading to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and Epic Universe are quickly discovering that modern theme park vacations now require much bigger budgets than they once did.

That growing frustration is likely why Universal continues placing such a strong focus on hotel guest perks in 2026. While the resort experience remains expensive, several onsite hotel benefits are helping guests save time, reduce stress, and get a little more value out of their trips.

Universal Vacations Are Becoming Harder To Budget

For many families, the biggest shock starts with ticket prices. Multi-day vacations with park-hopping options can quickly climb into the hundreds of dollars per guest. Once Epic Universe gets added to the plans, the overall cost rises even faster.

Universal Express has become another major expense. During crowded summer weeks, skip-the-line access can become extremely expensive, especially for larger groups. Still, many guests feel pressure to buy it because major attractions often reach long wait times very early in the day.

Food adds up quickly, too. Snacks, drinks, quick-service meals, and sit-down dining can quietly become one of the most expensive parts of a vacation. Then there are the hotels, which remain a major financial hurdle during peak summer travel periods.

Early Entry Continues To Deliver Big Value

One of the strongest perks for hotel guests remains Early Park Admission.

Universal allows onsite guests into select parks up to one hour before standard opening time. That advantage has become especially important since Epic Universe opened in 2025, bringing even larger crowds to the resort.

Popular attractions inside Epic Universe and Islands of Adventure often develop long waits shortly after the parks officially open. Guests using Early Park Admission can often experience major attractions before lines fully explode.

For travelers trying to avoid additional Universal Express costs, this perk alone can significantly improve the day.

Included Transportation Removes Stress

Universal’s transportation system continues helping hotel guests avoid several common vacation headaches.

Depending on the resort, guests can use buses, water taxis, or walking paths to connect hotels and parks. That convenience may not sound exciting at first, but it becomes incredibly valuable after exhausting park days.

Avoiding parking fees, long walks through garages, and expensive rideshares simplifies the trip and saves money throughout the vacation.

Hotel Guests Still Get Helpful Shopping Benefits

Universal is also continuing its complimentary merchandise delivery service.

Guests who buy souvenirs in the parks can send purchases directly back to their hotel instead of carrying them around all day. With Epic Universe merchandise, Nintendo products, interactive Harry Potter wands, and seasonal items selling heavily this summer, that perk becomes very useful.

Hotel guests can also use room keys for resort-wide charging purchases. Meals, snacks, and merchandise can all be charged directly back to the hotel account, helping guests move through the parks more easily without constantly digging for payment methods.

Express Unlimited Changes the Entire Vacation

Premier hotel guests continue to receive Universal Express Unlimited access to participating attractions at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Guests staying at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort receive the benefit throughout their stay. However, the perk does not currently apply to Epic Universe or Volcano Bay.

Even so, it remains one of the most valuable offerings at Universal Orlando Resort. Purchasing Express separately for multiple guests can become incredibly expensive during summer travel periods.

Unlimited access lets guests spend far more time enjoying attractions, dining, and entertainment rather than standing in lines all day.

Universal Keeps Leaning Into Hotel Benefits

Universal Orlando clearly knows guests are becoming more selective about how they spend vacation money. With costs rising across nearly every part of the experience, hotel perks are becoming a bigger part of the value conversation.

By continuing to promote these onsite benefits throughout summer 2026, Universal aims to make hotel stays feel more rewarding during one of the resort’s busiest periods in years.
