According to a June 2025 press release, the coaster would stretch an impressive 4,100 feet of track, weaving through a unique section of the park. Riders would soar across the space between the park’s upper and lower lots, passing near the famous entrance escalators that connect the two areas.
Even before the ride opened, many fans suspected it would become one of the most visually striking attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood.

A New Reveal Has Fans Talking About the Cars Themselves
This week, Universal Studios Hollywood finally answered that question.
On March 4, the park shared a first look at the ride vehicles that will power the highly anticipated Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster—and they’re instantly recognizable to fans of the film franchise.
Instead of generic coaster trains, the attraction will feature four distinct vehicles modeled after famous cars from the Fast & Furious films. Each one represents a fan-favorite character or vehicle from the long-running action series.
Universal says the ride vehicles are designed to feel authentic to the films while still delivering the intense performance required for a major roller coaster.
And the lineup is nothing short of iconic.
The Movie’s Most Legendary Cars Are Coming to Life
Among the vehicles revealed is the unmistakable Dodge Charger, widely recognized as the signature car of Dominic Toretto, portrayed by Vin Diesel. Universal describes the sleek black vehicle as the “ultimate American muscle car,” and its design directly references the Charger seen throughout the Fast & Furious franchise.
Joining it is the Mazda RX-7, inspired by Han Seoul-oh, the beloved character played by Sung Kang. Universal says the vehicle takes cues from Han’s 1997 model, complete with 19-inch wheels, racing seats, upgraded suspension, and custom interior detailing.
Another standout is the Nissan Skyline GT-R, modeled after the distinctive blue car driven by Brian O’Conner, the character portrayed by Paul Walker. According to Universal, this vehicle reflects the heavily modified 2002 model known for its performance and unique styling.
Finally, the lineup includes the instantly recognizable Toyota Supra, based on Brian O’Conner’s bright orange 1994 car. Powered by a 2JZ-GTE twin-turbo inline-six engine, the Supra remains one of the most memorable vehicles in the franchise’s history.
Together, the four cars represent some of the most beloved vehicles from the Fast & Furious films.
But they’re not just for show.
This Roller Coaster Will Spin Riders Like Drifting Cars
The vehicles will be attached to coaster trains capable of something Universal calls “groundbreaking 360-degree rotation.”
In other words, riders won’t simply race along the track—they’ll spin and drift through the course, mimicking the chaotic motion of high-speed street racing.
The coaster is expected to reach speeds of up to 72 mph, creating the sensation of drifting through corners at extreme velocity.
Universal also confirmed the ride will incorporate sound reduction technology, helping minimize noise despite the attraction’s high speeds and outdoor layout.
The attraction will begin across from the entrance to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, before launching riders on the twisting journey through the park’s skyline.
