A New Era of Magic in Beijing

Beginning November 14, Universal Beijing Resort will unveil something momentous for Wizarding World fans: a full Christmas celebration in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the first of its kind at this location.

At the center of it all is The Enchanted Christmas Tree in Hogsmeade—a towering, ornate display that no other Universal park has introduced. Guests can look forward to a nightly tree-lighting ceremony, a brand-new production crafted specifically for Beijing’s audience. Even long-time Universal visitors who’ve explored Hogsmeade in Florida or Hollywood will encounter something entirely different here.

This marks a significant milestone for Universal Beijing, signaling the resort’s intent to evolve its seasonal offerings and align itself more closely with annual traditions found in Orlando and Japan.

Holiday Magic Spreads Throughout Orlando

Meanwhile, Universal Orlando Resort is gearing up for one of its most ambitious holiday seasons ever. From November 21, 2025 through January 4, 2026, all three theme parks—and all 11 onsite hotels—will join the celebration.

Long-loved traditions return, including the wildly popular Grinchmas, but the spotlight this year lands firmly on Universal Epic Universe, which opened its gates in May 2025. This will be the park’s first-ever holiday season, providing guests with a unique opportunity to see how Universal integrates festive storytelling into lands that are still fresh in fans’ memories.

Epic Universe Enters the Holiday Scene

Epic Universe is home to five distinct worlds, and for this debut season, Universal is weaving holiday décor and seasonal ambiance into key areas including:

  • Celestial Park, the gateway world that connects the entire park

  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, offering its own magical touches

The décor will expand on the already immersive design of the park, allowing fans to experience these locations in a completely new light—literally and figuratively.

Why These Additions Matter

Universal’s holiday expansion goes beyond décor or programming. It reflects a strategic shift toward multi-park, multi-country holiday world-building, creating seasonal offerings that extend far beyond the standard parade-and-show formula.

By introducing an exclusive Christmas event in Beijing and elevating brand-new lands in Orlando, Universal is embracing a future where:

  • Seasonal celebrations are fully integrated into park storytelling

  • International parks receive unique holiday content, not recycled versions of U.S. events

  • New attractions and worlds debut with built-in holiday traditions, ensuring long-term return visitation

For guests, this means every holiday season has the potential to bring fresh reasons to revisit, regardless of which Universal destination is closest to home.

Preparing for Your Universal Studios Visit

With celebrations running through early January, guests have a wide window to experience these new offerings—but planning ahead will be key. Weekdays historically draw lighter crowds, and staying at one of the 11 onsite Orlando hotels provides easier access to all three parks during peak holiday weeks.

For Beijing visitors, the debut of Hogsmeade’s Christmas offerings is likely to become one of the resort’s biggest seasonal draws, especially with its exclusive nightly tree-lighting event.

Universal’s approach this year clearly signals a new phase of international holiday expansion. Whether guests are sipping warm butterbeer under a glowing enchanted tree in Beijing or exploring the festive streets of Epic Universe, the 2025–2026 season marks the beginning of something larger: a world where every Universal destination develops its own signature holiday identity.

From first-time celebrations to new traditions grounded in immersive storytelling, this global holiday shift is setting the stage for many more magical seasons to come.
