When Universal relaunched the Jurassic Park franchise with Jurassic World in 2015, it marked a decisive shift in branding. The new era delivered another trilogy—which included Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022)—before continuing last year with another box-office hit, Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)
Alongside those films came video games such as the Jurassic World Evolution series and the animated television shows Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (2020–2022) and Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (2024–2025).
Universal Studios’ Jurassic Experiences
That branding has also defined many Universal Studios’ Jurassic-themed experiences for nearly a decade. Attractions such as Jurassic World – The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood and the expansive Jurassic World Isla Nublar land at Universal Beijing Resort also reflect the modern era’s aesthetic, while legacy offerings like Jurassic Park – The Ride at Universal Studios Japan maintain a connection to the original trilogy.
Now, Universal Studios Hollywood is shifting the spotlight back to where it began.

A New Jurassic Park Experience Arrives
As reported by Laughing Place, who recently visited the resort, Universal Studios Hollywood has now “soft opened” its new Jurassic World: A Journey Through the Eras exhibit, inviting fans to celebrate over 30 years of the franchise. But despite the World-branded title, the experience is rooted firmly in the original trilogy, drawing heavily from Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), and Jurassic Park III (2001).
Located behind Revenge of the Mummy, the walkthrough exhibit combines props, live performances, and interactive elements.
Guests enter the iconic gates from Jurassic Park, where they are greeted by John Hammond, originally played by Richard Attenborough. The experience continues with a live portrayal of Dennis Nedry—played by Wayne Knight in the 1993 film—and Ian Malcolm, the chaos theory expert and mathematician made famous by Jeff Goldblum.

Guests can also find vehicles pulled from The Lost World and dinosaurs like the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III.
The setting blends museum-style presentation with active entertainment.
That entertainment includes a Triceratops encounter, a baby raptor meet-and-greet, and a staged “Raptor Escape” show featuring Blue and another raptor breaking free of their paddock. Trainers and security personnel guide the sequence, incorporating the audience into the containment effort.
While signage for Universal Fan Fest Nights—which will run on select nights from April 23 through May 16—appears within the area, the exhibit itself stands as a broader celebration of the franchise.
For a property that has spent years looking ahead, A Journey Through the Eras instead turns back, placing the original trilogy at the center of the experience—even as the films continue to evolve beyond it.
