Universal Would Like To Introduce You To…

The tropical air of Universal’s Islands of Adventure is thick with excitement. The gates to Jurassic Park loom ahead, welcoming guests into a world where dinosaurs still roam. Families rush to the River Adventure, thrill-seekers head toward VelociCoaster, and die-hard fans wander through the Discovery Center…

But lately, there’s been an unusual stir in the crowd. People are slowing their pace, phones in hand, scanning the walkways. There’s no ride announcement, no pyrotechnics, and no booming sound effects. Instead, what’s drawing attention is something small. Something incredibly cute. And it’s creating some of the biggest smiles in the park.

A New Face in Jurassic Park

This summer, Universal Orlando quietly introduced Dolores, a pint-sized Aquilops that’s quickly becoming a guest favorite. Her arrival follows the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth, which brought a surge of fan excitement thanks to new dinosaur species and breathtaking visuals.

Dolores has arrived at Universal Orlando! You can now meet her in Jurassic Park at Islands of Adventure!

Unlike the towering predators Universal is famous for, Dolores brings a softer, more heartwarming kind of magic. Guests have reported seeing a Jurassic World handler stroll through the main walkway near VelociCoaster, holding Dolores and stopping for spontaneous interactions. Whether it’s kids reaching out in awe or adults snapping photos, the little dino seems to capture everyone’s attention.

Your Best Chance to Meet Dolores

Dolores doesn’t run on a strict schedule, so catching her requires a bit of strategy:

  • Mornings are key – Early in the day offers the best odds.

  • Stay near the Discovery Center – That’s where handlers typically begin their walk.

  • Linger between other shows or meet-and-greets – Dolores sometimes appears during entertainment gaps.

  • Be ready to move fast – Encounters are short, and she’s on the go.

One bonus tip: Ride VelociCoaster early, then hang back in the nearby area—you might just see her appear as crowds shift away.

Local Tips and Hidden Hacks

Seasoned parkgoers have noticed Dolores tends to appear more often on lighter crowd days—particularly midweek, outside of major holidays. On slower mornings, handlers may even allow guests a closer look, giving you a chance to “meet” the tiny creature up close.

If you position yourself on the Discovery Center’s upper level, you can sometimes spot the team preparing Dolores before they officially step out. It’s a great way to be first in line for a photo or interaction.

Why Fans Are Loving This Addition

Jurassic Park has always been about awe and adventure, but Dolores adds something extra—an emotional, almost personal connection to the land. It’s not every day you meet a dinosaur that feels alive, and guests are taking to social media to share their experiences.

From TikTok clips to Instagram reels, Dolores is quickly gaining her own fan base. Many are calling her a “hidden gem” of Islands of Adventure, and she’s already cementing her spot as a must-see for Jurassic fans.

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
