Universal Annual Passholders Get First Access Before Regular Guests to Epic Universe—but There’s a Catch

Universal Orlando Resort has officially revealed that Annual Passholders will be the first members of the public to preview Epic Universe—weeks before its grand opening on May 22, 2025. These exclusive previews will run daily from April 17 through May 8, allowing early guests to explore five meticulously crafted new lands, including the buzzworthy Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Super Nintendo World.

But this isn’t just a casual sneak peek. It’s a paid preview—and demand is already sky-high.

Depending on the day, prices for the preview range between $123 and $144, and yes, they’re selling fast. So fast, in fact, that Universal’s virtual queue system has experienced major delays and even halts, with some Annual Passholders facing wait times over an hour just to access ticket purchase options.

Team Member Previews Hint at Groundbreaking Experiences

This isn’t Universal’s first test run of the new park. For weeks now, Team Members—the employees who brought Epic Universe to life—have been enjoying exclusive previews, many of them alongside family members. While these previews were originally kept under wraps by a strict social media ban, the lid has since blown off.

I wouldn’t say it’s greatest in the world b/c DisneySea is still a visual juggernaut (run mostly by the OLC), but it is legit as EPIC as we hoped it would be! What’s being shared online is jaw-dropping:

  • Advanced ride mechanics never before seen in a theme park

  • Immersive, cinematic landscapes that rival even Disney’s most intricate lands

  • Praise for seamless integration of tech, storytelling, and interactivity

Some insiders are already calling Epic Universe the most advanced theme park in the world—a bold claim, but one that appears to be gaining traction with every rave review.

Why This Moment Matters

While it’s easy to get lost in the excitement, there’s a deeper story unfolding here. Universal isn’t just opening a new theme park—they’re staking their claim in the future of immersive entertainment.

Agree 100%. It’s the major thing that those parks lack. Good luck to Disney if they ever truly do figure it out. Disney was built on those emotional connections with guests. And this at a time when Disney seemly has abandoned making that a priority. – @Savethedmagic on X

For years, Disney has worn the crown of themed entertainment, especially in Central Florida. But Epic Universe is Universal’s most strategic move yet to disrupt that dominance, offering new experiences powered by cutting-edge technology, from augmented reality attractions to fully interactive lands.

I Said that last month. Epic is just the beginning of a much larger plan. – @hnn_scott on X

This early preview opportunity isn’t just a nice perk for loyal fans—it’s a calculated move to build grassroots hype, secure rave reviews, and generate viral momentum that spills into summer 2025.

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
