Before you even get through the turnstiles at Disneyland Paris, someone may try to sell you something that has nothing to do with Disney.
@dlrpfans posted video to X this week showing what is happening in the walkway between the resort’s parking area and the park entrances, and it is exactly the kind of thing that catches guests off guard because it looks just plausible enough to seem legitimate. The caption says everything: “Fake vendors are still operating between the parking area and the Disneyland Paris parks, selling counterfeit Mickey ears to guests. Stay alert and buy official merchandise inside the resort. Also, work continues at Annette’s Diner!”

Counterfeit Mickey ears. In the approach corridor. Being sold to guests who are still in that pre-park mental state where the excitement of arriving makes everything feel like part of the experience.
We have some things to say about this.
What Is Actually Happening and Why It Is Allowed to Keep Happening
The stretch between Disneyland Paris’s parking area and Disney Village is not technically inside the resort. That is the loophole these vendors are exploiting. Resort security cannot remove someone from a public walkway the same way they can remove an unauthorized seller from inside the park gates. So the vendors set up there, in that liminal space where guests are still finding their footing, and they sell counterfeit merchandise to people who assume they are buying something official.
The word “still” in the @dlrpfans caption matters. This is not a new story. These vendors have been operating in this area and they are back. The resort is aware of the situation and guests are being warned, but the geography of the corridor makes immediate enforcement complicated.
Here is what is not complicated: nothing these vendors are selling is made by Disney, inspected by Disney, or endorsed by Disney in any way. The counterfeit Mickey ears in the video look like the real thing in the same way a fake designer bag looks like the real thing from across a street. Up close, in your hands, the difference is usually obvious. But in the excitement of arriving at a Disney park, with kids asking for the ears they just spotted, that is not always the moment for a careful product comparison.
The vendors risk permanent bans from the property. Guests who buy from them generally face no formal consequences, but they are paying real money for a product that is not what it pretends to be and that benefits no one affiliated with the resort they are about to spend the day inside.
Walk past them. Buy the ears inside. The stores in Disney Village and throughout both parks have the full range of official merchandise and the ears you buy there are actually Disney ears.
Disneyland Paris Is Also Closing Earlier Starting August 8
Both Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World are changing their closing time to 10:00 PM starting August 8, 2026. Right now, both parks close at 10:40 PM. August 7 is the last day of the longer evening. August 8 is the first night of the earlier close. No grace period, no gradual shift.
Forty minutes sounds minor until you are standing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at 9:45 PM and the park closes in fifteen minutes instead of fifty-five. For guests who plan their evenings around nighttime spectaculars, final ride runs, or just the particular atmosphere that Disney parks take on after dark, that difference is real.
What is not changing is Extra Magic Time. Guests holding a Disneyland Pass Gold or staying at a Disney Resort hotel or Les Villages Nature Paris still get early access from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at one or both parks. If you are in that category, the morning window is unchanged and now becomes even more valuable as a way to front-load your day before the earlier closing time compresses your evening.
If You Have Not Been to Disney Adventure World Yet, This Summer Is the Time
The second park at Disneyland Paris is not the same place it was a year ago. Disney Adventure World opened in March as a full transformation of the former Walt Disney Studios Park, and the difference is substantial.
The World of Frozen is the headline addition, an entire land built around the world of Frozen that gives the park something it has never had before in terms of full themed immersion. The nighttime spectacular Disney Cascade of Lights is the park’s signature after-dark experience and worth specifically planning your evening around. Raiponce Tangled Spin, inspired by Tangled (2010), is among the newer attractions. Walt Disney Imagineering also has Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, inspired by Up (2009), and a log flume ride inspired by The Lion King (1994) in development for the park.
Keep in mind that the August 8 closing time reduction applies here too. If Disney Cascade of Lights is on your must-do list, check the show schedule for your specific visit dates against the 10:00 PM close to make sure the timing still works before you build an evening around it.
The Bottom Line Before Your Trip
Fake vendors in the approach corridor: they are there, they are selling counterfeit merchandise, and the easiest thing to do is walk past them and buy official merchandise inside the resort where it belongs.
The hour change: both parks close at 10:00 PM from August 8. Know this before you build your evening itinerary so you are not caught short.
Disney Adventure World: if your last visit was before March 2026, you are walking into a genuinely different park. Give it the time it deserves.
