Trapped: Disney World Guests Spend the Night on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Walt Disney World Resort’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction recently encountered a temporary technical issue, causing some guests to spend much of their night on the Magic Kingdom ride.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which opened in 2024, is a reimagining of the former Splash Mountain, now themed to The Princess and the Frog (2009) instead of the controversial Song of the South (2009). Guests are invited to join Princess Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose) and her friends as they embark on a lively journey through the bayou, featuring music, animation, and New Orleans-inspired designs.

TikTok user @kaelynalex recently shared a video detailing her unusual experience on the Frontierland ride, explaining that she and her party had rushed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as the park was closing, hoping to enjoy one last ride before the night ended. They arrived at the ride just in time, but shortly after boarding, they found themselves stuck on the first lift hill, near the motionless Princess Tiana animatronic.

“We ran here,” one of the Disney Park guests remarked as they sat on the motionless attraction.

The video shows the guests waiting for a period before the ride began moving again, and fortunately, no evacuation was necessary. The ride resumed its regular operation shortly after the delay, and the TikToker commented that the experience was still “a very fun way to end the night.”

Walt Disney World Resort rarely issues statements on minor issues that occur with attractions, and no public statement was made regarding this specific breakdown. While the cause of the brief stop remains unclear, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure returned to regular operation afterward, and no further delays were reported at the time of the article’s publication.
