Walt Disney World Resort has suddenly removed one of its Toy Story (1995) attractions at Disney Springs. This change comes on the heels of another unexpected removal just steps away at the World of Disney store.
Six days ago, Disney Dining reported on the removal of a Cinderella statue outside one of the World of Disney entrances. Many Disney Parks fans initially believed the statue’s disappearance was due to routine maintenance. However, just days ago, Walt Disney World Resort quietly overhauled the store’s exterior, leaving many wondering whether Cinderella would ever return.
Now, in a similar turn of events, another familiar attraction has disappeared from Disney Springs. On Saturday, July 19, WDWNT reported that the Mr. Potato Head statue outside the Once Upon A Toy store was suddenly missing. In its place is a planter, a typical feature during construction or refurbishment projects around Walt Disney World Resort.
The iconic Play-Doh tub that served as the statue’s base has also been removed, leaving only its purple foundation behind. Stanchions now surround the base, which appears to have been recently repainted.

Interestingly, the Buzz Lightyear statue across from the Mr. Potato Head statue has not been removed, and the Aurora statue across from Cinderella’s spot outside the World of Disney store remains untouched. This suggests that Disney may be staging these changes, removing some photo ops temporarily while keeping others intact for guests to enjoy.
At this point, Walt Disney World Resort has not offered any public statement on the changes around Disney Springs. Disney typically does not speak publicly on minor updates or refurbishment projects throughout its parks.
