Epcot is unlike any other theme park out there. It focuses on innovation, discovery, and a sense of wonder. There are two main areas of the park, Future World and the World Showcase. Both areas are made up of smaller pavilions, such as The Land in Future World, and the country pavilions, such as the Japan pavilion in the World Showcase. With so much to tackle and take in in this great big park, it can be a little overwhelming to know just where to start when planning your day at Epcot. The pressure is always on to get the most out of your day at a Disney park, and to experience all the must-do’s and exciting attractions. Here are 10 things you can do to help you have a great day at Epcot.
10. Have Breakfast in the Park
Get an early start on your great day at Epcot by making a breakfast reservation at one of the restaurants. Akershus and Garden Grill both offer breakfast character meals. Meeting princesses or Chip ‘N Dale is the perfect way to kick off your day at Epcot. If a character breakfast isn’t really your thing, or if you don’t have a reservation, not to worry. There are quick service locations with some amazing food options. One of the best options are the pastries and decadent baked goods available in the France pavilion at Les Halles Boulangerie –Patisserie.
9. Visit All the Pavilions
Each pavilion in Epcot has something special and unique to offer guests, so don’t just pass one by. This includes the pavilions in Future World too, not just World Showcase! Take the time to stop and explore what each pavilion is all about. Some have rides, restaurants, beautiful films, characters to meet and of course shopping.
8. Do a Tour
If you’ve visited Epcot before, do one of the tours offered at the park and see something new. There is the short and very reasonably priced Behind the Seeds Tour, which takes you behind the scenes of Living with the Land. There is also the Gardens of the World Tour and the UnDISCOVERed Future World Tour. Many of the tours require a reservation, so it’s best to book them in advance.

7. Watch the Performances
There are a number of street style performers showcasing some amazing talent around the World Showcase. If you happen to be wandering the World Showcase, and you see a performer, take a few minutes to stop and enjoy the entertainment. There are the Jewelled Dragon Acrobats in China, and Sergio in Italy is an extremely entertaining juggler and mime. And don’t forget to catch a performance of Voices of Liberty the a cappella group at the American Adventure.
6. Talk to the Cast Members
Strike up a conversation with a cast member. Many of the cast members at Epcot are from other countries, and you may find you learn something interesting and valuable about their home country or the World Showcase pavilions just by having a five-minute conversation with them. The cast members are truly the life of the parks, so don’t ignore them, instead engage with them!
5. Snack
Do not curb your desire to snack at Epcot, especially if you happen to be there during the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival or the Food & Wine Festival. Both of these festivals offer special marketplace booths, which have tasty menu items. There are also so many delicious snacks throughout the park, like School Bread in Norway, anything in France, and caramel treats in Germany.
4. Get a FastPass+ for Frozen
Frozen Ever After is one of the most popular attractions at Epcot and it consistently has one of the longest lines. Get a FastPass+ for this attraction and save yourself time waiting in line.
3. Meet Characters
There are a number of characters to meet at Epcot, and many that you may not find elsewhere. Guests can meet Mulan in China, and a number of princesses in the World Showcase, such as Snow White, Jasmine, and Belle.
2. Make a Dining Reservation
Epcot has some of the best dining there is at Disney, and a wide array of culinary options. Do yourself a favor and make a dinner or lunch reservation at one of the restaurants. You’ll have a great meal sitting in a wonderfully themed restaurant, and you won’t find yourself struggling to find an empty table come meal-time.
1. Watch Epcot Forever
A great day at Epcot includes seeing the night-time spectacular, Epcot Forever, which happens at the World Showcase Lagoon. Find a spot about 30-45 minutes early if you want a good vantage point, and you may even find a bench. The show is well worth the wait, and will leave you amazed and feeling like you truly had a great, or even fantastic, day at Epcot.
