Thousands of Disney World Guests Given Warning as “Dangerous” Activity Reported for Central Florida
This summer, the Walt Disney World Resort is brimming with limited-time magic and exciting updates—but guests should be aware of one major consideration: the heat. A powerful wave of extreme temperatures is sweeping across Central Florida, and local reports are urging parkgoers to stay cool and hydrated.
According to Click Orlando on Thursday, July 10, 2025, “Limited rain is in the forecast into the afternoon, allowing highs to reach the low to mid-90s, with heat index values approaching 110 degrees.” They add: “If you’re spending time outside, take frequent breaks, find shade, and stay hydrated!” A few afternoon storms could also develop along the coast and move inland through sunset, potentially bringing heavy rain, strong wind, minor hail, and lightning.
It’s a good week to make the most of those shaded queues, cool indoor attractions, and your refillable resort mugs. Be sure to apply sunscreen, stay out of the sun when you can, and pace your adventure with regular breaks.
Meanwhile, all across Walt Disney World, construction walls are going up as new experiences begin to take shape. At Magic Kingdom Park, the beloved Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island have closed as work ramps up on the transformation of Frontierland into Piston Peak National Park—a new area inspired by Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the evolution continues with DinoLand U.S.A. giving way to the forthcoming Tropical Americas, an area set to celebrate the lush biodiversity of Central and South America. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also in on the action, preparing space for Monstropolis, themed to Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.
With all these updates in motion, it’s clear that the Disney Experiences team is building toward an exciting future. While some guests may choose to delay their visits until major projects are complete, the truth is that Walt Disney World will be in a constant state of transformation for the foreseeable future.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the magic is on hold. In fact, it’s full steam ahead! Cool Kid Summer has launched across the resort, bringing unique limited-time experiences to each park. And at Magic Kingdom, anticipation is soaring for the upcoming debut of Disney Starlight—a brand-new nighttime parade that’s expected to light up Main Street, U.S.A. in a whole new way.
Whether you’re braving the heat or planning your dream trip down the road, Walt Disney World remains a place of timeless wonder—and right now, it’s bursting with exciting new chapters.
