This Orlando Theme Park Is Handing Out Free Collectible Items To Guests

Universal Orlando Resort is distributing free commemorative wristbands to guests celebrating birthdays or special occasions at select attractions throughout both Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. The attraction-themed wristbands feature unique designs incorporating ride logos and branding, creating collectible souvenirs.

The program debuted in the last several months and is gradually expanding across both parks.

How to Get The Free Wristbands

Team members at participating attractions may hand out wristbands if they see guests wearing birthday or celebration buttons. Guests can also request wristbands directly from team members at attraction entrances or exits.

The ability to collect wristbands from multiple attractions creates opportunities for guests to turn park visits into collection challenges, strategically visiting rides that offer wristbands.

Universal Studios Florida Wristbands

Universal Studios Florida currently has the most extensive collection of attraction-specific wristbands:

Bourne Stuntacular: Gray birthday wristband with attraction name, logo, Universal wordmark, and white “It’s my birthday!” text

Horror Make-Up Show: Black celebration wristband with “I’m celebrating!” in yellow with red border. Reverse side features “Horror Make-Up Show” text and white vampire teeth graphics

Men in Black: Alien Attack: Glow-in-the-dark green celebration wristband with attraction name, “I’m celebrating!” text in black, and white stars

Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon: Purple birthday wristband with attraction name, “It’s my birthday!” in white text, and Universal wordmark

Revenge of the Mummy: Dark gold birthday wristband matching the attraction’s exterior facade, with “It’s my birthday!” text and ride name in black

Transformers: The Ride 3D: Light blue celebration wristband with ride name and “I’m celebrating!” in white

The Simpsons Ride: Two wristbands—one blue with ride wordmark, Universal Studios logo, and “I’m celebrating”; another with “It’s my birthday!”

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts: Navy wristband with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter wordmark on one side and “I’m celebrating” on the other

Islands of Adventure Wristbands

Islands of Adventure currently has fewer attraction-specific wristbands available:

The Incredible Hulk Coaster: Blue birthday wristband with wordmark, text, and park icons in white

Storm Force Accelatron: Generic white wristband with “It’s my birthday!” text in blue and yellow, stars, and Universal Orlando logo

Dr. Doom’s Freefall, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges: Yellow birthday wristband with blue and white text (generic design used at multiple attractions)

Future Expansion for Free Items

Islands of Adventure plans to introduce specific wristbands for each attraction in the future, likely once every ride at Universal Studios Florida has its own unique design. In the meantime, guests visiting Islands of Adventure can still obtain generic wristbands at participating attractions.

This gradual rollout indicates that Universal is assessing the program’s popularity before committing to the creation of unique designs for every attraction in both parks.

Free Collection Opportunities

At Universal Orlando Resort, guests can collect various wristband designs by enjoying every attraction. This gamification encourages guests to experience rides they might otherwise overlook, creating tangible free souvenirs.

Families could make collecting all available wristbands a structured activity, planning routes that efficiently hit every participating attraction. The wristbands serve as conversation starters and shared experiences around celebrations.

The program’s free wristbands make it accessible to everyone, regardless of budget. Unlike merchandise-based celebration recognition, which requires purchasing specific products.
