This Hidden Disney Experience Is Back and You Can’t Miss It

EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts officially kicked off this week at Disney, bringing back one of the most popular interactive activities. Figment’s Brush With the Masters scavenger hunt has returned for 2026, giving guests a fun way to explore World Showcase while searching for hidden artwork.

The scavenger hunt costs $11.99 and can be purchased at three locations: Gateway Gifts, Creations Shop, or World Traveler. When you buy your map, you’re also securing your completion prize, which you can either pick up right away or collect after finishing the hunt. The same three stores handle prize redemption.

Getting Started at Disney

Your map includes hints on the back in the form of stickers. These clues guide you toward 10 different paintings scattered throughout World Showcase, each featuring Figment incorporated into famous works of art.

How the Disney Hunt Works

The basic concept is simple: walk around World Showcase looking for paintings that include EPCOT’s purple dragon mascot. The execution, however, requires careful observation. The paintings aren’t always positioned in obvious spots or at easy eye level. You might need to look up, down, or in quieter areas of pavilions that don’t get as much foot traffic.

This is part of what makes the activity engaging. Because you’re actively searching for specific artworks, you end up paying much closer attention to the details of each pavilion than you would during a typical visit. You notice architectural elements, design choices, and themed decorations you’ve probably walked past many times without really seeing.

The hunt naturally slows down your pace through World Showcase. Instead of rushing from one country to the next, you’re taking your time and examining your surroundings with purpose. For families with children, this transforms a lot of walking into an active game where everyone participates.

What You Get for Completing It

Once you’ve found all 10 paintings, you can redeem your map for a paint-by-sticker activity. There are four different design options available, so which one you receive adds a small element of surprise.

The paint-by-sticker format works as both a souvenir and an activity you can do after your park visit. It’s something tangible to take home that extends the festival experience beyond EPCOT itself. Kids especially tend to enjoy having a creative project they can complete in their hotel room or at home.

Why It’s Worth Doing

Festival of the Arts offers plenty of activities, but this scavenger hunt hits a sweet spot of being accessible to all ages while adding structure to your World Showcase experience. It works for solo guests who enjoy searching for hidden details, couples looking for a shared activity, and families needing something to keep kids engaged during extended walking.

The activity also introduces art history in a playful way. Figment appears in recognizable masterpieces, which means participants get exposed to famous artworks even if they’re primarily focused on finding the dragon. For children, this can create positive associations with art and spark conversations about the original paintings.

Practical Tips

Take your time searching. The paintings can be genuinely difficult to spot, and rushing through pavilions will likely mean you miss them. The hints on your map help, but they’re not always straightforward. Part of the challenge is interpreting the clues.

If you get stuck, cast members can usually provide gentle guidance without completely spoiling the hunt. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you’re truly stumped.

Consider doing the scavenger hunt during less crowded times if possible. Early morning or later evening hours give you more space to search without fighting crowds, and you’ll have better opportunities to examine the paintings without people blocking your view.

Incorporating It Into Your Disney Day

The scavenger hunt works well as something you do alongside other festival activities rather than as a separate event. You can search for paintings while moving between food booths, work it into your dining plans by hunting in pavilions where you have reservations, or use it as a way to explore World Showcase before or after catching a Disney on Broadway performance.

At $11.99 for the map and completion prize, it’s reasonably priced for a family activity that provides entertainment during your visit, plus a take-home creative project. If you’re visiting EPCOT anytime during the Festival of the Arts, especially with children, this is worth adding to your plans.
