The EPCOT World Showcase is once again the center of attention, as new construction in the Canada Pavilion sparks speculation about the park’s evolving international landscape. Two previous removals have already altered the EPCOT guest experience, and Disney appears to be making another significant change.
Canada Pavilion Under Scrutiny
For decades, the EPCOT World Showcase has offered a glimpse into different cultures, with eleven immersive pavilions representing nations from around the globe. However, recent modifications suggest that Disney may be shifting its approach to this section of the park.
Disney Park guests first noticed changes in the Canada Pavilion in June 2023, when construction walls were erected around the Hotel du Canada facade. Over the past year, construction walls have gone up and down multiple times, and Disney has offered no public explanation for the continued renovations.
A Pattern of Change at EPCOT
These updates follow the quiet removal of two international sodas from Club Cool, leaving guests wondering whether more changes are on the horizon. Walt Disney World Resort has not officially commented on the alterations or their impact on the rest of the EPCOT World Showcase.
According to WDWNT, a new section of roofing recently appeared above one of the pavilion’s entryways, and additional scaffolding has been spotted in the area.
What’s Next for World Showcase?
Earlier this year, Walt Disney World Resort filed a permit for “installing signage” in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion, but no details have been provided on what this means for the pavilion’s future. Guests can still enjoy much of the Canada Pavilion, though access to some areas remains restricted due to ongoing construction.
