The Dessert Shop Taking Over Sprinkles’ Prime Disney Springs Location
CrazyShake by Black Tap opens March 2, 2026, at Disney Springs in the former Sprinkles location, bringing over-the-top specialty milkshakes to one of the shopping and dining complex’s most visible storefronts. The grab-and-go concept focuses exclusively on Instagram-worthy shakes rather than offering the full Black Tap restaurant experience.
The current agreement is for 90 days, though it could be extended based on performance.
The Complete Disney Springs Menu
The Disney Springs menu includes several signature CrazyShake options, most priced at $17.50:
BAM BAM Shake ($17.50): Vanilla frosted rim with fruity pebbles topped with fruity pebbles rice krispy treat, strawberry pop tart, laffy taffy, whipped cream and cherry. Known for structural integrity and temperature control with well-balanced flavor profile. The vanilla frosting rim pairs well with the cereal, and the ice cream is served very cold for maintaining consistency.
Cookie Shake ($17.50): Vanilla frosted rim with cookie crumbles topped with cookiewich, crumbled cookies, chocolate chips, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
Cookies ‘n Cream Supreme ($17.50): Vanilla frosted rim with crushed oreos topped with cookies ‘n cream sandwich, crumbled oreo, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
Brooklyn Blackout ($17.50): Chocolate frosted rim with mini chocolate chips topped with two chocolate brownies, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.
Special Edition Mickey CrazyShake ($24): Vanilla frosting rim and Mickey sprinkles topped with homemade Mickey-shaped crispy treat, rock candy, whipped cream, and cherry. Features premium ingredients including top-tier rock candy and Rice Krispie treat made with professional-grade fondant. The shake is notably thick, best enjoyed with a spoon, and due to its size and richness, best shared.
Classic shakes cost $12 with eight flavor options: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, Nutella, peanut butter, cookie, fruity pebbles, and oreo cookies and cream.
What Makes CrazyShakes Different
CrazyShake by Black Tap is a specialty concept from Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, known for award-winning burgers and legendary milkshakes. These are not standard milkshakes. They are towering constructions served in containers rimmed with frosting and rolled in candy, sprinkles, or cookie crumbles before the shake is poured.
Each shake features milkshake bases topped with elaborate combinations of cookies, candy, brownies, whipped cream, and other dessert elements stacked on top of and around the glass. The visual spectacle is intentional, designed to create shareworthy moments driving social media engagement.
The Instagram Factor
Part of what makes CrazyShakes popular is undeniable visual appeal. In today’s social media landscape, presentation matters, and these milkshakes were practically designed for TikTok and Instagram. Watching one being made often turns into a mini event, with guests pulling out phones before taking the first sip.
Beyond visuals, the flavors are rich, sweet, and indulgent. These are full-on sugar celebrations, not subtle desserts.
CrazyShake by Black Tap has the advantage of being a proven concept that succeeds at both visual appeal and quality at existing locations. The shakes taste good and look spectacular, creating satisfied customers rather than disappointed guests who feel products didn’t live up to Instagram hype.
The Sprinkles Context
The former Sprinkles storefront represented prime real estate in one of Disney Springs’ most heavily trafficked areas. Sprinkles had been a Disney Springs fixture offering upscale cupcakes, but the closure left the space vacant.
CrazyShake by Black Tap taking over makes strategic sense given both concepts focus on premium desserts with strong visual appeal and Instagram potential. The grab-and-go nature suits the storefront’s size and configuration designed for quick transactions.
The 90-Day Timeline at Disney Springs
The 90-day agreement creates urgency around visiting during the initial availability window rather than assuming indefinite operation. Limited-time offerings generate excitement and social media buzz. This inspires guests to document their experiences and encourages friends to visit.
If CrazyShake by Black Tap performs well during its 90-day run, extension or permanent status becomes possible. Strong sales, positive guest feedback, and social media engagement would factor into decisions about longer-term presence.
The location opens at noon each day starting March 2, 2026. Whether it develops long queues, similar to those at Gideon’s Bakehouse nearby, depends on execution. It also depends on pricing perception and whether Shake’s delivers on its visual promise.
