The Atlanta Braves May Ditch Walt Disney World as Their Spring Training Location

Contract negotiations are underway for The Atlanta Braves to have a new spring training home in Sarasota County Florida, in the city of North Port.  If the contract goes through, this could mean that they would be at their new location as early as 2019 once it has been built.  Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports is the current home for the Atlanta Braves spring training, and Disney likely isn’t excited about the possibility of losing them.

At this point, Disney hasn’t made an official statement about this development. It will be interesting to see if Disney will try to recruit another team to take their place if they end up losing them and what teams would be possible contenders.  We will keep you posted as we learn more.  What team would you like to see move their spring training to Walt Disney World?
