The 2019 Holiday Season Outside of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks

On July 25, I attended a Christmas in July Media Event at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I’ve already shared with you the information that we learned about what the holidays will be like this year in the parks (click here to view!). Now I’d like to tell you a little bit about what else we learned that is not necessarily theme park related.

Merchandise

Let’s start with merchandise, because I know that for some people, that is just as important as the rides at Walt Disney World. This Christmas Season people who love spirit jerseys will have a hard time deciding what to buy, because there are four different ones that will be available. There will be three different holiday themed MagicBands sold as well. One will feature Chip ‘n’ Dale, one Minnie and Mickey, and the third will be the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party exclusive. That will also feature Mickey and Minnie.

We also saw Alex and Ani bracelets, holiday plush, and Mickey Ears. Some of the ears are headbands featuring gingerbread men or peppermint candies. There are also hats with ears, including one that is shaped like a snowman. There are Passholder Exclusive shirts, plus shirts that celebrate the Festival of the Holidays at Epcot. Of course there are limited edition pins. There is also a new light up necklace. This year, the lights in the necklace are Mickey shaped. These are just a few of the items that will be sold at Walt Disney World this holiday season.

Resorts

We also learned quite a bit about the resorts. We saw samples of the decorations that will be at Disney’s Riviera and Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. We also learned about some of the options that are offered by Disney Floral & Gifts. This can be a great way to surprise your family if visiting Walt Disney World during the holidays; especially if you have children who are scared that Santa will not find them.

One thing that is nice about Disney Floral & Gifts is that the packages are up to you, they are customizable. You can have treats delivered if that is what you would like, or perhaps you’d prefer toys. You can order a stocking or a bag that resembles Santa’s sack. There are festive holiday balloons, including a fun option that features Jack Skellington. You can have the room decorated, and you can even order a live tree! It’s made out of branches, it’s not an actual tree, but it is shaped to look real. You can greet your family with a banner that drapes over your door. That could be a fantastic surprise. The staff at Disney Floral & Gifts will set everything up in your room while you aren’t there, so it can truly be a secret.

The Ultimate Disney Christmas Package

2019 also features the return of the Ultimate Disney Christmas Package. If you do not have plans for Christmas Day and the days leading up to it, you might want to check this out. There is a lot offered in this package, and I’ll try my hardest to do it justice. You will stay at a select Moderate or Deluxe resort, you will check in on Saturday, December 21 and check out on December 26. You will receive four day Park Hopper tickets for everyone in your party. You will also receive tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on December 22, which is the last night of it this year. The package also includes exclusive time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at night, a reserved viewing area for Epcot Forever, a $50 Dine In card for Epcot, and a Christmas gift that will be delivered to your room.

The price for The Ultimate Disney Christmas Package is not as much as you might expect. It starts at $199 per night, per person. If you are interested and would like more information, call 407-939-5268. That is also the number that you need to call to book the Ultimate Disney Christmas Package. Spots are limited, and you must make your reservation by October 26, 2019.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
