Test Track suffered cascading technical failures on Thursday, remaining closed 90 minutes past EPCOT’s opening before repeatedly breaking down, leaving Walt Disney World Resort guests stranded in what was posted as a 30-minute line for nearly 2 hours.

Two-Hour Wait for “30-Minute” Queue
When the World Discovery attraction finally opened, crowds rushed to the posted 30-minute standby line. Reddit user u/snampally joined the queue at 10:20 a.m.
“At 10.20am, I fell for the trap,” the Disney Park guest wrote. “I noticed 30 min wait for ‘Test Track’ ride and I flocked in like everyone else.”
Nearly two hours later, the line was still moving:
“Its 12.15pm right now, we are still waiting in line wirh atleast 10 more minutes wait before we can hop on the ride. We’ve had one ‘temporary close’ which was communicated by fellow riders as they walked back in the lanes.”
Disney cast members offered minimal explanations for the delays:
“We heard the ‘delayed ride’ message 3 times, which has not given any useful information about the delay. Just the generic ‘we’re experiencing some issues, there will be a delay. Apologies.'”
Problems Persist, Seven Months After Test Track Reopening
Test Track reopened July 22, 2025, after its third reimagining, announced at Destination D23 2023. The update introduced in-vehicle technology, upgraded scenery, and enhanced car-simulation testing while keeping the 65-mph outdoor finale. Seven months after reopening, the attraction continues struggling with its advanced systems.
Walt Disney World Resort has not addressed the extended downtime or explained why posted wait times bore no resemblance to actual queue length when the ride repeatedly stopped functioning.
