Swim Lesson Time? Kiddie Pool Access Revoked for the Youngest Disney World Guests
Walt Disney World’s All-Star Resort hotels are known for their big, bold theming and budget-friendly rates. For families traveling with little ones, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort often stands out as a favorite thanks to its kid-friendly amenities. Unfortunately, in just five days, a closure will take away one of the youngest All-Star Resort guests’ favorite ways to cool off.
On September 3, 2025, Disney confirmed that the Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort would be closing for refurbishment. The project begins on September 8, just five days after the announcement, and is set to last through late October.
The closure may seem small compared to an entire resort refurbishment, but it’s a noticeable inconvenience for families who count on this splash spot to keep their toddlers entertained while older kids enjoy the larger pools.
Disney’s official notice reads: “From September 8 through late October, the Fantasia kiddie pool and water play area at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for maintenance. During this time, the Fantasia Feature Pool and Duck Pond Pool will remain open and Guests are also welcome to use the kiddie pools at Disney’s All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts. Guests may see or hear maintenance activity throughout the construction period.”
Normally, pool hopping isn’t allowed at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests can only access the pool areas tied to their booked hotel, with locked gates requiring a valid room key or MagicBand tied to a reservation. However, this closure makes an exception to that rule. Disney is opening access to the kiddie pools at All-Star Music and All-Star Sports Resorts for guests staying at All-Star Movies during the refurbishment period.
Walt Disney World Resort has not announced a specific reopening date beyond “late October.” For now, guests can expect construction noises and blocked access to the Fantasia kiddie pool until the work is finished.
