Splash Mountain Music Plays on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland

Guests smuggled a portable speaker onto Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disneyland Park this month, blasting original Splash Mountain songs throughout the ride to recreate the controversial attraction Disney removed in 2023. The group documented their stunt on TikTok, sparking heated debate about appropriate theme park behavior.

TikTok user @n8thegr88888888 recently shared multiple videos showing his party playing Splash Mountain’s soundtrack during their Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride. One clip captures the group blasting “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” from Song of the South (1946) as they float through scenes thematically inspired by The Princess and the Frog (2009).

Splash Mountain closed at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in 2023 for transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The retheme eliminated connections to the racist Song of the South, replacing that narrative with a story set after The Princess and the Frog.

The reimagined attraction follows Princess Tiana, Louis, Prince Naveen, and Mama Odie as they recruit musicians for a New Orleans bayou party. Advanced audio-animatronics portray film characters and animal friends, with voice work from the original cast, including Anika Noni Rose, Michael-Leon Wooley, Bruno Campos, and Jenifer Lewis.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Magic Kingdom Park in June 2024. Disneyland Park’s version debuted in November 2024.

Some Disney Parks fans applauded the guests for “bringing back” Splash Mountain.

“Splash was sooooooo much better,” @randomtiktoc2 commented. “Great work.”

“Let me know next time you go so I can enjoy the ride again,” @dewmandrew wrote.

Others criticized the group for ruining the experience for fellow riders hoping to enjoy Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as Disney intended.

“That’s how you ruin a ride for everyone,” said @roxas255sora6.

“Yeah I would’ve most definitely threw that speaker off the ride,” replied kayia87. “Ain’t finna ruin my Tiana bayou ride with that goofy song.”

The TikToker defended his actions with a brief response: “I made it better!”
