Box Truck Crashes Into Building at Disneyland California, Damage Confirmed
A box truck recently crashed into the entrance of Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at Disneyland Park, leaving noticeable damage. The incident, which reportedly occurred late at night, was recounted by multiple Disneyland Resort guests and cast members on social media, with a photo showing a significant dent on the Tomorrowland building’s exterior.
Star Tours has been a staple at Disneyland Park since it opened in 1987, marking one of Disney’s first collaborations with George Lucas. Over the years, the ride expanded to other Disney parks, including Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. In the early 2010s, all four rides were updated to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, featuring characters from all nine Skywalker saga films and providing new experiences for fans of the Star Wars franchise.
On Saturday, August 2, Redditor u/TheDisneyScoopGuy posted a photo of the dented entrance to the Tomorrowland attraction, commenting, “At some point something crashed into the Star Tours sign at Disneyland.”
Fans quickly began speculating about the cause of the damage. Many pointed to the possibility that a truck or construction lift, commonly used by Disney cast members for maintenance and deliveries, might have been involved.
“I’ve seen trucks hit stuff left and right late at night,” said u/NCreature. “Especially guys who aren’t used to driving through the park. I remember one night when a Coca Cola truck took out the string lights at DCA on the pier. Was a hell of a show.”
“Lol someone on some sort of lift got too close,” u/Clear-Ad-7250 wrote. “I’d guess a scissor lift.”
One Reddit user, u/ston3dguy, claimed to be a Disney cast member who was present during the incident. They confirmed that a Disneyland Resort box truck hit the building:
“I was there the night it got hit. It was a Disney box truck. You’ll sometimes see them on the road in Anaheim. They’re all white and have ‘Disneyland Resort’ on the doors.”
Disneyland Resort has yet to officially confirm the details of the crash or provide a timeline for repairs. The attraction is already closed for refurbishment, so crews may take the opportunity to fix the damage during the downtime.
