We are all extremely excited about Toy Story Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this June.  The new, themed land is set to open at Walt Disney World on June 30th, 2018.  Thankfully Disney Parks Blog is releasing details and information here and there to tide us all over until the official opening.  In the new land, guests will “shrink” to the size of a toy so that they can explore all of the fun happening in Andy’s backyard.  There will be two new attractions added to the land, and we got to see a little sneak peek of them.  Alien Swirling Saucers (main article picture) is one of the new attractions. This attraction was designed to look like a toy from Pizza Planet and will be located next to Buzz Lightyear’s Star Command playset.   Aliens will fly around the toy saucers while “The Claw” is overhead.  There will be a fun musical soundtrack that features 8 familiar songs for guests.  There are a variety of different pizza details throughout the attraction, too, since the toy came from Pizza Planet!

Slinky Dog Dash is the other new attraction opening at the land. It is a family-friendly coaster themed as if Andy built it in his backyard using his Mega Coaster Play Kit and some other favorite toys. You can get a look at this new ride from the video below:

Of course Toy Story Mania will still be in the land and open with its third ride track added.  The entrance for the attraction has been updated to match the story for the rest of the land.

Which of the two new attractions are you most looking forward to riding?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
