Spice Road Table Restaurant: Sneak Peak and Photo Gallery

Spice Road Table Restaurant: The time of waiting will soon be over…

The new Moroccan restaurant Spice Road Table is about to open. Saturday January 11, 2014 the waterside restaurant will be open to the public.  There was some testing being done today by the Cast Members and everyone looked pretty happy.  Management was kind enough to allow DisneyDining to come in and get some shots of the restaurant to share with you.  We will be sharing a full review tomorrow with you on the new food and beverages you can experience the next time you are in Epcot.

The atmosphere is very relaxed and the smells coming from the kitchen is sure to pass the test.  The wait staff and management were very welcoming.  The colors inside were vibrant yet soothing.  As you approach the restaurant from the France side you see a welcoming veranda with iron-scrolled fencing around it, brick floor, and mis-matched chairs at iron leg tables with marble tops.  Place settings are out with silverware, plates, goblets, and napkins.

Approaching the main entrance you will see the menu and a sign that lets you know the restaurant is currently closed to the public and that testing is being done.  The lovely ladies at the podium shared that the restaurant would be open to the public at World Showcase opening tomorrow morning.  Upon request the management did grant us access to take pictures to share with you.

You will enter through a stone archway onto a tiled floor.  Directly in front of you is the wide bar where you can order a variety of wine, beer, and mixed drinks. You can also choose a wine flight. There are two house specialty Sangrias available.  The front of the bar is beautiful Moroccan tile and wood.  Around the Mediterranean blue walls is a variety of Moroccan mirrors and views through carved window frames out onto the World Showcase Lagoon.  They have copper wine buckets in black iron work stands for chilling your wine tableside.  Please look up at the beautiful Moroccan light fixtures that adorn the wooden ceiling above the bar area.  You will walk through this area to get to the outside seating area, or to the inside seating area.

The inside area has large windows looking over the World Showcase Lagoon and should afford great views of Illuminations.   There are tableside windows and also booths that have semicircle benches in them. There are privacy screens between the booths. Above the booths are nooks filled with beautiful Moroccan candelabras, chests, vases, plates, etc.  The light fixtures are a punched metal in gold tones and the ceiling has wooden beams.  The Mediterranean blue is repeated in here with wooden chairs and bits of salmon and a light gold color palette.  The carved wooden chairs have a leather type material with hammered nail head detailing.  The walls within the booths have a variety of Moroccan geometric art and individual light fixtures.

Cassie L. I am a lifelong Disney fan. I attended Walt Disney World in 1971, and was there during the opening week of EPCOT, and have visited the Disney Parks for than 30 times. I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland as a child, and then again with my children. My family recently moved from the northeastern United States to the Walt Disney World area. I now have cast members in my family and enjoy hearing the magical stories at the end of a shift. I love visiting all of the parks and getting to try more Disney food… More »
