Walt Disney World is always looking for new and different ways to enhance the guest experience. We have seen this through the roll out of My Disney Experience, perks for resort guests, transportation options and more. We have learned of another guest offering that is currently in testing at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The testing has started for smart speakers in select guest rooms. The speakers are voice activated, allowing them to get a variety of information around Walt Disney World, including park hours, bus times, internet searches, weather info and more. Guests will not have to complete any kind of registration to use the speakers or any special setup. This means that they aren’t currently expected to even link to the guest’s My Disney Experience account.
At the time of this post, the testing is only for select rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Guests who are lucky enough to stay in one of these rooms will be asked to provide input and feedback on the use of the speaker during their stay. Guests in a room at either resort without a smart speaker are not able to request to be put into one.
What do you all think of this new offering? Would you use a smart speaker like this if you had one in your room?
