Siemens is a sponsor for a couple major attractions at Walt Disney World. They are the sponsor for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, the evening fireworks show at Epcot, and Spaceship Earth, the attraction in the middle of the park icon at Epcot. The were also the sponsor for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, the amazing Christmas light show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that ended its long run a couple years ago. According to Twitter user, Lisha (@lielder3), who supposedly works for Siemens posted that paperwork has been received regarding ending their sponsorship with Disney. This wouldn’t just impact the attractions that are sponsored at Walt Disney World, but also the sponsorship of Disneyland as well.
We have seen a lot of permits filed recently for Epcot, and we can’t be sure if this change with the Siemens sponsorship could be related. We also can’t be sure what this means for Spaceship Earth or IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Does this mean that major changes could also be headed for these attractions? With the new technology and fireworks and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the new Happily Ever After show at Magic Kingdom and the newly added Rivers of Light to Animal Kingdom, is Epcot ready for a new show after a long run with IllumiNations? This would seem to make a lot of sense.
We don’t have any official announcements from Disney yet but we are all very curious about what all of these changes mean for the future of Epcot and the new attractions.
What do you all think about this new development?
