Seven New Shops and Restaurants Coming to Disney Springs

The announcements keep coming about Disney Springs! When the transformation is complete in 2016, there will be approximately 150 shops and restaurants, which is double what Downtown Disney used to have. Here are seven that you can look forward to. Plenty more are on the way.

7) Blaze Pizza

Blaze Pizza features delicious pizzas and salads fast. The food is fresh and made to order by an assembly line of workers (think Chipotle). You’ll have your pizza faster than you ever thought possible, and you’ll love the flavors. Blaze Pizza has franchises across the country, and it seems like it will be a good fit for Disney, where time is precious.

6) L’Occitaine en Provence

The Florida heat and humidity can do a number on your skin, and soon you’ll be able to buy great products to make it feel baby smooth once again. L’Occitaine en Provence sells skincare products, fragrances, hair care items, and more. Gift sets will be available, as will travel sizes that will fit in your carry on. Not much information on the new boutique has yet been announced, but know that the products are top of the line and luxurious.

5) Morimoto Asia

There has been a lot of buzz about this planned eatery, and with good reason. Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto will be the genius behind the creations. Pan-Asian foods will be served. The restaurant will be huge, with two-stories, waterfront seating, and private rooms. There are more surprises in store as well. Morimoto Asia is set to open in The Landing in the summer, so expect to hear good things soon.

4) PANDORA

When some people hear about “Pandora” at Walt Disney World they will automatically think of the new land that is currently under construction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A different type of PANDORA is coming to Disney Springs. Fans of collectible charms and other jewelry will be happy to know about this new shop. PANDORA has taken the charm bracelet to a whole new level. You can add as many or as few pieces as you would like. Considering that Walt Disney World is about making memories that will last a lifetime, PANDORA seems like a perfect fit for Disney Springs.

3) STK Orlando

Although Disney Springs is supposed to have a yesteryear feel, STK Orlando will be a modern steakhouse. The eatery will feature a state of the art lounge, a disc jockey and other entertainment, and rooftop dining. After STK Orlando opens it will not take long for it to become a new “in” destination, especially after the parks have closed for the day. STK Orlando is expected to open sometime in 2015.

2) Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

There has been a lot of excitement brewing since the announcement of this new lounge. Jock Lindsey’s will be based on the Indiana Jones movies. There will be seating for approximately 150 people, and it will feature specialty cocktails such as the “Hovito Mojito”. There will also be a small plates menu. Rumor has it that Reggie, Jock’s pet snake from Raiders of the Lost Ark will somehow play into the theme for the new bar. You can stay inside the hangar, or head out onto Jock’s permanently docked boat. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is scheduled to open in the fall of 2015.

1) The Edison

Few details have yet been announced about The Edison, but there have been rumors about the new restaurant floating around for months. If the Orlando version is anything like the one in Los Angeles it will be a great fit at Disney Springs. The LA location blends art, industry, and science to make it more than just another restaurant. Cabaret-style entertainment will be featured. The food is American, and there will be an extensive signature cocktail menu. There has been no official word yet on when the new restaurant will open.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
