We had our first opportunity to dine at the brand new and very unique STK ORLANDO restaurant in Disney Springs last night.
There are a lot of restaurants on Disney property that I would say are great for a “Theme Park.”
Folks, this was a flat out GREAT restaurant! It was one of the best meals I have had in Orlando. Not just on Disney property.
Side note, we had Tonga Toast at the Kona Café the next morning and my son-in-law sent me a text later that day saying, “I think last night’s dinner and this mornings breakfast was the best two meal streak of my life.” High praise indeed.
I am a big fan of Flemings, Ruth’s Chris, and I adore Morton’s Steakhouse. This was right up there with some of the great steakhouses I have dined at. Plus, STK ORLANDO has some unique elements that I have not experienced at many Disney eateries.
Atmosphere: It’s getting hard to beat Disney Springs for Disney Magic outside the four Orlando parks and STK ORLANDO takes it up a notch.
The entire DS expansion is really shaping up. With both parking decks now open, getting to Disney Springs is becoming much easier and the new shops and restaurants are knocking it out of the park.
The entire place is packed with people and excitement and STK just turns up the volume. Literally! The have an amazing live DJ that plays about 20-30 seconds of every song you have ever loved while seguing and mixing them together in a way we have never experienced. My entire party said they would come back to this restaurant just for the music mix. When does that happen?
Jonathan Segal, CEO of The One Group, the restaurant company that developed STK was quoted as saying “STK is just as much about the night out as it is about the food.” He was right, the atmosphere was incredible.
Staff: Lots of energy and lots of smiles. I love going into any business, especially a restaurant, where you can quickly tell the staff would rather be working here than anywhere else. That’s what we felt at STK and it resonated throughout the staff regardless of rank or position. There is a company culture at STK that other restaurants should study and teach.
Seating: Great seating options in the downstairs and upstairs indoor bar area and a large restaurant seating area on the first floor. (See videos) Like Morimoto Asia, located right next door, the inside reminds me a lot of Las Vegas restaurants. Very sleek, modern, bright, and cool. Very, very cool.
After having a pre-dinner cocktail on the upstairs outdoor patio area prior to our reservation, we choose to just remain out there for our meal. It is truly stunning and the view will only get better as the DS construction nears completion.
Service: Dutch was the man. He was kind, funny, and really knew his way around the menu. When we ordered the Mac and Cheese he said, “You are going to want two of those.” Never wanting to question anyone that has served in our country’s military, we promptly ordered two. We wished we had ordered three. (Thank you for your service to our country Dutch!)
Food: The appetizers, steaks, and the sides we all amazing. Cooked perfectly and very flavorful.
In conclusion, this is definitely on the pricey side of any Disney dining location, but to us, it was WELL worth the price. In fact, I have had much more expensive meals that did not hold a candle to STK ORLANDO as far as quality of food or service.
I have come to realize that what we spend on meals during our vacation and non-vacation meals for that matter, is a very subjective conversation. So when I tell you that we dined with five adults and our bill with tip came to Just over $400 including tip, some will blow a Disney gasket.

If you are trying to watch every penny on your Disney trip, this is not your place. I say that with zero judgment. On our first Disney trip, we stayed in a bartered condo 30 minutes from the parks. We did not eat a single full meal in the parks that we did not pack ourselves in ziplock sandwich bags. We know how to do Disney on the cheap and tip our hats to the people that “make Disney happen” when its not easy to do so monetarily.
If you have the means, you will not regret dining at STK Orlando. By the end of this year, there will be 16 STK locations, including the 14,000-square-foot space at Walt Disney World. After you try it, you will know why. @eatSTK
