Disneyland Resort has confirmed that Toy Story Midway Mania! is closing on Monday, April 6, but has not said when it plans to reopen the attraction.
No End Date for Pixar Pier Closure
The Toy Story Midway Mania! refurbishment was first announced in February, and Monday, April 6 is the last day guests can ride the interactive digital shooter at Pixar Pier before it goes offline. Disneyland Resort has not released a reopening date, nor has it shared anything about the scope of the work planned for the Disney California Adventure Park attraction.
Toy Story Midway Mania! received Disneyland70 anniversary updates last summer, adding themed targets and graphics to the ride experience. The 70th anniversary celebration runs through August 9, 2026, so if the attraction returns before then, those additions will almost certainly remain.
Buzz Lightyear Ride Not Far Behind
Guests hoping to swap one Toy Story (1995)-themed shooter for another won’t have much time. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland Park is also heading into refurbishment on April 13, leaving both of the resort’s interactive Pixar shooters offline in the same month. Disneyland Resort has been equally tight-lipped about that closure, too: no construction plans, no project timeline, no reopening estimate.
Meanwhile, Walt Disney World Resort is days away from officially reopening Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom Park on April 8. The Central Florida attraction closed in August 2025 for a substantial overhaul that added upgraded interactive targets, redesigned handheld blasters on new ride vehicles, and a new audio-animatronic character named Buddy. Soft openings have already been quietly rolling out to lucky guests over the past few weeks.
Disneyland Resort has not addressed whether any of these improvements will be implemented in its version of the interactive Toy Story ride.
