Rare Disney Villain Suddenly Appears for Meet-and-Greet at EPCOT

Guests visiting EPCOT on March 4 received an unexpected treat when one of Disney’s most recognizable villains suddenly appeared in World Showcase. Cruella De Vil, the infamous fashion-obsessed antagonist from 101 Dalmatians(1961), was spotted greeting guests in the United Kingdom Pavilion during a rare daytime meet-and-greet.

The surprise appearance quickly caught the attention of park visitors. Many guests strolling through the pavilion initially noticed the dramatic black-and-white hairstyle and bold outfit before realizing who it was. Soon, a small crowd gathered near The Queen’s Table as fans lined up to meet the villain.

Cruella is not a character that regularly appears in EPCOT, which made the encounter feel even more special. While Disney villains occasionally appear during certain park celebrations, Cruella is most commonly associated with Magic Kingdom events such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Because of that, seeing her casually greeting guests in World Showcase felt like a rare moment.

The United Kingdom Pavilion also provides a fitting setting for the character. Cruella De Vil is famously British, and the pavilion’s architecture and charming streets resemble the London setting seen in 101 Dalmatians (1961). For fans of the film, the location added an extra layer of authenticity to the experience.

Guests who met Cruella reported that the character interaction delivered exactly the kind of personality you would expect from Disney’s iconic villain. Cruella posed dramatically for photos, delivered sarcastic remarks, and leaned fully into the over-the-top attitude that has made the character so memorable for decades.

The timing of the appearance is particularly interesting because it comes just as EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival begins for the 2026 season. The festival transforms the park with colorful gardens, creative topiary displays, and seasonal food booths throughout World Showcase.

The Flower & Garden Festival is one of EPCOT’s most popular annual events, drawing visitors throughout the spring months. Guests can explore themed merchandise, enjoy outdoor kitchens offering fresh dishes, and experience special displays inspired by beloved Disney characters like Orange Bird and Spike the Bee.

While Disney has not confirmed whether Cruella’s visit was specifically tied to the festival, seasonal events often bring small surprises like pop-up entertainment and unexpected character encounters.

For many guests, that’s part of what makes visiting EPCOT exciting. Even frequent visitors know that a normal walk around World Showcase can suddenly turn into something memorable.

Cruella’s appearance served as a reminder that sometimes the best Disney moments are the ones that aren’t planned at all.
