Plus-Size Model Faces Backlash Over Controversial Disney World Video

Walt Disney World is often touted as “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” a place where guests of all ages, shapes, and sizes come together to create unforgettable memories. The resort offers a diverse range of experiences that cater to everyone — from thrilling rides to iconic parades and character meet-and-greets.

However, for one social media influencer, her recent trip to the Magic Kingdom was far from magical. In a recent video that has since sparked heated discussions online, Gracie Bon, a popular plus-size model, shared her experience of being stared at during her visit to the park.

Gracie Bon, who boasts over 10 million followers on Instagram, is no stranger to public attention. The Panamanian model is known for her outspoken personality, particularly when it comes to body image and self-love. She has previously documented her personal weight loss journey, proudly claiming that her transformation was achieved without any surgical procedures.

Her figure, which includes a small waist and larger proportions in her legs and buttocks, has garnered both admiration and criticism in equal measure.

In the video, which was posted to her Instagram, Gracie recounts how her experience at Disney World was overshadowed by the stares and disapproving glances of other park guests.

She claims that her excitement for the day quickly turned to frustration as people continuously gawked at her, with some even making faces as they passed by. Gracie expressed her disbelief at the audacity of those who couldn’t seem to accept her for who she is.

I can’t just magically wish myself skinny,” Gracie said in her video. “I just want to be treated like everyone else. Why does my body have to be such a spectacle?”

Her video quickly went viral, amassing thousands of views, likes, and comments. However, while many of her followers expressed sympathy and support, there were others who criticized her for choosing to modify her body in the first place.

Some commenters argued that, because Gracie is known for her unique body shape, she shouldn’t be surprised by the attention it attracts.

This isn’t the first time Gracie has addressed body-shaming during her theme park visits. Last year, she shared similar complaints about being stared at while visiting Disneyland Paris. Despite her ongoing challenges with public scrutiny, she continues to advocate for body positivity, using her platform to encourage self-acceptance.

For some, Gracie’s video hit a nerve, bringing attention to the pressures that come with body image in an era of influencers and social media.

Others, however, pointed out that her public persona—largely defined by her body—may contribute to the attention she receives. Despite her claims that her figure is all-natural, some still find it hard to reconcile her statements with the noticeable changes in her physique.

The controversy surrounding Gracie’s video raises important questions about how we view body image in the context of public spaces. Should we hold individuals accountable for how their bodies make others feel, or should we instead focus on fostering an environment of acceptance for all body types?

But the conversation doesn’t end there. In recent months, Gracie has made headlines for another controversial claim: that she was forced to take a private jet due to airline seats being too small for her. While some sympathized with her plight, others saw it as a publicity stunt.

As the discussion continues to unfold, one thing remains clear: body-shaming — whether subtle or overt — is still a significant issue. While Disney World offers a wide array of accommodations for guests with diverse needs, it’s the attitude of fellow visitors that can make all the difference in creating a truly magical experience. In a place where dreams come true, perhaps it’s time to reimagine a more inclusive kind of magic—one that embraces all guests, no matter their size.

What are your thoughts on Gracie’s experience at Disney World? Do you think her claims are valid, or is there a deeper issue at play? Let us know in the comments below.
