Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest resort on Walt Disney property and is a fantastic place to spend a resort day.  From outstanding food, great relaxation areas and access to the Skyliner, Disney’s Riviera is truly a magical place to be.  We have just how you can spend your whole day enjoying this resort on your next vacation.

1. Get Moving Early

Not all of us enjoy working out on vacation, but if this is something that you enjoy doing to stay on track, you can start your resort day right at the Athletique Fitness Center.  Here you can find weights as well as treadmills and bikes to get your body ready for the day.

2. Breakfast With Mickey and Friends

What better way to start your day after a workout (or sleeping in) than by having breakfast with Mickey and friends at Topolino’s Terrace.  This restaurant is located at the top of the resort and provides sweeping rooftop views of Disney.  This prix fixe menu offers a variety of options to please the whole family.  While you enjoy your pastries and more, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Minnie will parade around in their adorably, stylish outfits unique to Topolino’s Terrace.  You can’t get a better and more magical start to your day than by dining here for breakfast.

3. Walk Around

After a great meal, you will want to walk around the amazing resort grounds.  There is such beauty in the resort from the palm trees to the grand archways. There is so much to take in and enjoy throughout the property.  Relax by the water, listen to the fountains, scroll through the scenic views.  This is a relaxing and beautiful way to get familiar with everything Riviera has to offer.

4. Enjoy the Art

One of the special touches about Disney’s Riviera is the very unique works of art they have throughout the resort.  From the very instagramable mosaics, featuring Peter Pan and Tangled, to small touches in the resort lobby and rooms, Disney’s Riviera offers an art gallery of its own.  Take time during this day to really look for these pieces of art.  Talk to the cast members about them to learn more.  So much inspiration came from Walt’s travels to Europe that there are even some books and pieces for him around.

5. Visit Primo Piatto

For lunch you will want to visit the quick service location Primo Piatto.  This dining location is known for the amazing food it offers and often pulls guests out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios for lunch.  Make sure you mobile order to get your food!  Grab some delicious fries and sandwiches and enjoy a nice meal outside on the terrace.

6. Hit the Pools

The Riviera has two pools to choose from depending on what you are looking for during your day.  The Riviera Pool offers a place to swim, splash and play.  This pool offers a slide as well as a S’il Vous Play area for little ones.  If you are looking for a quieter option, the Beau Soleil Pool is calling you to unwind and relax.

7. Grab a Drink

While at the pool, enjoy a drink at Bar Riva.  This poolside bar offers some good meal options as well as a variety of beverages for young and old alike.  Try out some of the specialty drinks just for the Riviera.

8. Dinner With a View

Topolino’s Terrace is a fantastic option for dinner while staying at Disney’s Riviera.  This rooftop dining experience will provide fresh, delicious seafood and meat dishes along with pasta and desserts.  Even if you enjoyed breakfast with Mickey and friends earlier in the day, in the evening this restaurant transforms as the textures, colors and details come to life.

9. Wrap up with Dessert

After an amazing day, you will want to wrap up with a delicious dessert from Le Petit Cafe.  You can find cocktails, beer, wine along with savory bites and desserts throughout the day.  This is a fun, artistic location to stop by.

10. Venture Out

While enjoying your resort day at Disney’s Rivera, you can also enjoy both the skyliner and Disney’s Caribbean Beach.  If you are looking for more dining options, or a way to see more of Walt Disney World, you can catch the skyliner and head out for a nice, relaxing ride.  This is a fun way to see parts of property you don’t normally get to see.

Disney’s Rivera is described on Disney’s website as being “inspired by Europe and imagined by Disney”.  Here you can see why Disney fell in love with parts of Europe and how it has been brought to Florida in this resort.  There is so much magic at the resort that you will have a great time enjoying all of the food, relaxation and recreation it has to offer.  A resort day at Disney’s Rivera is a must!

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
