Disney’s Art of Animation is one of the value resorts guests can currently stay at while visiting Walt Disney World. This highly themed resort provides great entertainment, and we have the best way to spend a whole day here during your vacation.

1. Start with a Walk

A great way to start a resort day at Art of Animation is with a walk or run around the resort.  There is a 1.3-mile trail that takes you on a scenic path around Hourglass Lake.  You can watch the park come to life in the morning as you enjoy breakfast and coffee.

2. Take Pictures

Art of Animation is extremely well themed.  The four themes you can find throughout the resort are Cars, Finding Nemo, Lion Kingdom and The Little Mermaid.  Each of these areas have larger than life statues that are perfect for taking pictures with.  When you are hustling to and from the parks, these amazing icons are easy to walk right past, so take some time during a resort day to really explore the different themed areas.

3. Pool Time

When having a resort day at Art of Animation, pool time is a must!  Art of Animation typically offers three pools for guests to choose from.  Right now, the main pool, the Big Blue Pool, is undergoing refurbishments; however, guests still have two amazing pools to splash around in while staying here.  The Flippin’ Fins Pool and Cozy Cone Pool as well as the Schoolyear Sprayground offer fun for the whole family.  If you are really looking for some fun, get to the Cozy Cone Pool early to grab a fun cabana.

4. Join the Activities

Upon checking into Art of Animation, make sure to grab a resort activities guide.  This guide will provide you with different activities happening around the resort.  Although COVID-19 precautions have caused some of these offerings to be adjusted, know that Disney is still providing lots of fun for guests in and around the resort.  Pool games are just a small example of what the Disney cast members continue to bring to the resort guests each day for fun.  Get up and get involved in these activities during your resort day.

5. Have a Great Meal

Landscapes of Flavors, the food court offering at Art of Animation, provides some of the best resort quick service meals on Disney property.  Mobile order some lunch or supper and then enjoy a meal together as a family out on the grass or around the pools.

6. Get a Drink

The Drop Off Pool Bar also offers great drink and quick snack options.  While you are enjoying the pools or taking an afternoon stroll around the park, grab a quick drink to take with you.

7. Skyliner

A stay at Art of Animation wouldn’t be complete without a trip on the skyliner.  Even though you might not have any specific destination in mind, take a ride on the skyliner and enjoy the sights from Walt Disney World from high above.  Head over the Caribbean Beach Resort and then catch the line to Epcot or Hollywood Studios or just jump back on and head back to Art of Animation.  No matter where you fly off too, enjoy the magical sights.

8. Visit Pop Century

Another great aspect of Art of Animation is how close it is to Pop Century.  While enjoying a down day at Art of Animation, consider walking over the Pop Century to get something to eat or just see the different icons throughout the resort.

9. Movie Under the Stars

To wrap up your resort day at Art of Animation, be sure to catch the Movie Under the Stars.  Most nights guests can enjoy a Disney or Pixar movie outside at the resort.  This is a fantastic way to wrap up the evening.

These are just a few activities you can do during your resort day at Art of Animation.  This well themed resort offers lots of magic and fun for the whole family.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
