Opening Time Frame Revealed for New Walt Disney World Attraction, Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway

Today was Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse’s 89th birthday!  This made it the perfect day to announce critical information about their new ride, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which is planned to come to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  From findings within Disney documents, it looks like the attraction will be ready for guests sometime in April of 2019.  This lends us to believe that an April 2019 or May 2019 opening is extremely likely.  We expect that there will likely be cast member and Annual Passholder previews, as well as a soft opening for the attraction prior to the official opening.  This attraction is a huge deal since it is first Mickey and Minnie themed ride to be created at any Disney theme park.

The Great Movie Ride closed earlier in 2017 in order to clear the way for the new Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway attraction to be created.  This attraction is expected to be the first of its kind, allowing guests to enter into the cartoon world and become part of a Mickey and Minnie cartoon.  There will be no glasses required, but the world will still have a multi-dimensional look and visual effects.  It will be extremely exciting to see how Disney pulls this one off.

We love that we will finally have a Mickey and Minnie ride and can’t wait for it to open.  It feels like forever to wait, but we know it will be amazing when it finally opens!
