Disney Confirms Oga’s Cantina Closure, Final Day To Dine Announced
Disneyland Park guests have just one day left to visit Oga’s Cantina before the Star Wars lounge closes for an extended refurbishment. Monday, January 19, marks the final opportunity to experience the popular drinking establishment in its current form, with closure beginning Tuesday, January 20, and lasting through early March 2026.
Final Day of Operations for Oga’s Cantina
Disneyland Resort confirmed Oga’s Cantina will serve its final customers on Monday before entering a multi-week closure. Guests hoping to visit the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge watering hole must do so by the end of business on January 19 or wait until March for the venue’s return.

The extended refurbishment prepares Oga’s Cantina for major changes coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park. Disney announced earlier this month that half of Batuu will shift to the original trilogy timeline starting April 29, 2026, while the other half maintains its sequel trilogy setting.
Timeline Transition Requires Venue Modifications
The closure allows Disney to transform Oga’s Cantina’s backstory to align with the new dual-timeline approach. According to Disney’s updated narrative:
“In the era of the Galactic Civil War, proprietor Oga Garra only recently opened this watering hole, which is already becoming a popular spot for intergalactic travelers.”
The iconic “Cantina Band” song from Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) will be added to the lounge’s soundtrack. Disney has confirmed aesthetic changes throughout Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to support the timeline shift, but hasn’t specified whether Oga’s Cantina will receive visual updates beyond the audio modifications.

The closure was initially rumored to last only four days but has been extended significantly. Disneyland Resort hasn’t announced a precise March reopening date.
Broader Star Wars Land Changes
Oga’s Cantina is just one component of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge transformation. Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo will begin appearing in original trilogy sections of the land. Classic John Williams musical compositions will enhance the ambient atmosphere.

First Order Cargo merchandise shop will be reconcepted as “a military salvage operation offering artifacts from across the history of the galaxy, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War”—the conflict central to the original George Lucas trilogy.
Walt Disney World Resort will implement matching changes at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, though Disney hasn’t confirmed when the Florida transformation will occur.
Unlike the Walt Disney World Resort version, which accepts advance reservations, Disneyland Park’s Oga’s Cantina operates exclusively as a walk-up, so the closure doesn’t affect any existing bookings.
