Notice Sent to Magic Kingdom Coffee Drinkers as Disney World Makes Change Effective Immediately
Morning coffee plans at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom may look a little different this week, as one popular beverage location has temporarily adjusted its menu in response to an unexpected seasonal issue.
The Joffrey’s Revive kiosk near Tomorrowland has suspended the use of flavored syrups and sauces after an increase in bee activity around the outdoor coffee stand. According to Kenny the Pirate, guests will now find a notice posted at the kiosk that reads: “Bee-Ware: Syrups and sauces are temporarily unavailable to reduce the attraction of bees to this location.”
As a result, the location is currently serving a more limited selection of beverages, including drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brew. Guests looking to add flavors such as vanilla or caramel will need to visit one of Magic Kingdom’s Starbucks locations instead.
The change highlights an issue that has affected Walt Disney World on multiple occasions over the years. Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company serves as Disney’s primary coffee provider, with kiosks located throughout all four theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, and several dining venues across the resort.
Because the Revive kiosk operates entirely outdoors, flavored syrups and sweet sauces can attract bees more easily than enclosed locations.
The timing also isn’t unusual. Beekeepers refer to this point in the summer as a “nectar dearth,” a period when flowers naturally produce less nectar. During these weeks, honey bees search for other sugar sources, making outdoor beverage stands particularly attractive.
Bee activity has periodically affected Joffrey’s locations across Walt Disney World in recent years. Previous incidents have resulted in temporary kiosk closures, reduced drink offerings, and operational challenges for cast members working at outdoor stands. Similar reports have surfaced at multiple Disney parks, suggesting the issue extends beyond a single location.
Disney has already started testing potential long-term solutions elsewhere on property. Several Joffrey’s kiosks at EPCOT have been updated with enclosed serving windows and mesh screening intended to prevent bees from entering while allowing normal operations to continue.
If those modifications continue to perform well throughout the summer, they could help reduce guest encounters with bees, improve conditions for cast members, and lessen the need for temporary menu adjustments like the one now in place at Magic Kingdom.
At this time, however, Disney has not announced whether the Revive kiosk or additional Joffrey’s locations will receive similar upgrades.
For guests visiting Magic Kingdom in the coming days, the temporary changes remain straightforward. The Revive kiosk continues serving drip coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brew, but flavored syrups and sauces are unavailable for the time being. Those looking for specialty flavor additions will need to stop by a Starbucks location elsewhere in the park.
Disney has not shared when the full menu will return, and the current changes appear to be tied to the seasonal increase in bee activity rather than a permanent adjustment.
