‘Frozen’ Officially Removed From Disney World Christmas Lineup

Walt Disney World Resort guests are already facing some unexpected disappointment this holiday season. Just days before the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of 2025, Disney confirmed that one of Magic Kingdom Park’s holiday shows, Frozen Holiday Surprise, has been removed from the event lineup.

Disney Parks Fans Left Out in the Cold

The first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on November 7, 2025, and every November date is already sold out. The hard-ticketed after-hours event is one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most iconic seasonal offerings, inviting guests to enjoy festive treats, limited-time entertainment, and exclusive character meet-and-greets for an admission price ranging from $169 to $229 per person. Guests can enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 p.m., with the event officially running from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.

The Frozen Holiday Surprise show, which features characters from Frozen (2013) performing a musical lighting ceremony in front of Cinderella Castle, was expected to return in early November as part of the holiday lineup. In previous years, the performance began several days before the first Christmas Party, serving as a nightly highlight for both regular Magic Kingdom Park guests and party attendees.

However, according to Walt Disney World’s official website, Frozen Holiday Surprise will not debut until November 10—three days after the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. That leaves guests attending the opening-night celebration without the signature castle show that helped kick off the season in past years.

A Change to the Disney World Christmas Schedule

The official schedule lists Frozen Holiday Surprise performances, beginning November 10, typically offered twice nightly at 6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Some evenings feature only one performance, such as November 29, which currently has a single 6:15 p.m. time slot.

In 2024, the show returned on November 5—three days before the first party event—allowing early November guests to experience the spectacle. The new delay means this year’s opening-night guests will instead have to wait until mid-November to enjoy the full Frozen experience.

Despite the missing show, Magic Kingdom Park’s holiday celebrations will still include Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, and a host of exclusive seasonal offerings. The Frozen Holiday Surprise is expected to continue nightly through the end of December once it begins.

As of now, Walt Disney World Resort’s official Frozen Holiday Surprise webpage lists performances through November 29, with December dates yet to be added. Guests planning to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or visit Magic Kingdom Park during the holidays are encouraged to check the official website or the My Disney Experience app for the latest schedules and updates.
