Disney Parks Blog just announced that there will be a new nighttime fireworks show that will replace “Wishes” at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. “Happily Ever After” will officially replace “Wishes” starting on May 12. The show will be themed toward guests finding their own happily ever after through highlighting what other Disney characters did in order to reach their own dreams. Characters from the latest Disney and Pixar movies will be included. This would include characters from movies like: Big Hero 6, Brave, Moana and Zootopia. There will still be characters from many other favorites and classics that we know and love. The show will use Disney’s latest projection technology as well as new fireworks and pyrotechnics systems. The show is also expected to have a new amazing score that will capture the hearts of all guests.
Wishes first debuted at Magic Kingdom in 2003. It has been the evening show almost every night since then, with the exception of special events, inclement weather and special celebrations. This will be a huge change for Disney World fans that will bring a mix of sadness and excitement as we will miss “Wishes”, but also know that “Happily Ever After” will likely be completely amazing!

The fireworks dessert parties at Tomorrowland Terrace are still expected to be offered, and will be a fabulous and delicious way to enjoy the new fireworks show. These packages are very popular, so you will want to reserve yours as soon as possible.
Tell us what you all think about this big change and saying goodbye to “Wishes” forever?
