We previously shared that an expansion is coming to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, including a 15 story tower at the resort. Bob Chapek, Chairman for Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products just announced new details about the resort, including the name of the tower, the Gran Destino Tower. The tower is expected to be completed sometime in July 2019. It will serve at the new main entrance for guests coming to the resort. The new tower will also add 545 guest rooms and feature the two story lobby. 50 of the rooms will be suites. Guests will also be excited for the new table service restaurant that will reside on the top of the tower, offering amazing views of Walt Disney World.
The tower is influenced by design elements and finishings that match classic Spanish styles.  All of the other resort rooms at the entire property for Disney’s Coronado Springs resorts have been updated with new fixtures, furnishings and lighting. This means that 1,800+ rooms have been completely updated. There have been new walkways added that stretch across the water so that guests can get from place to place easier around the resort.
Reservations for the new tower are expected to open soon, with stays beginning in July 2019. We will keep you posted as we learn more!
