During Destination D23 — which took place last September at Walt Disney World Resort — Disney announced that the iconic Country Bear Jamboree show would be getting a “modern makeover.” The unique show has been a staple in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom since the park opened on October 1, 1971. According to Disney, the new show would be inspired by Nashville music revues, and would feature the bears singing some classic Disney songs.

Since the announcement, fans have been waiting to see just how long they had left to experience Henry, Liver Lips McGrowl, Big Al, Teddi Barra, and the rest singing songs they have come to know and love.

And now, after four months, we finally have some answers. Disney Parks Blog has given us a sneak peek at the changes coming to the classic show.

If you want one last chance to experience The Country Bear Jamboree in all of its original glory, then you have until January 26. Beginning January 27, the Country Bear Jamboree will close and remain so until it reopens this summer as the Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

Even though the Grizzly Hall show will be different, Disney has promised that the new version will feature a “familiar tune fans may remember”. It wouldn’t be Disney if they didn’t honor the old when opening the new.

The reimagining of the Country Bear Jamboree show is not the big change taking place in Frontierland. Disney crews are hard at work on the construction of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The new ride is taking the place of Splash Mountain — which closed permanently in January 2023. The decision to close Splash Mountain was a controversial one, but Disney is excited for guests to have a brand-new Princess and the Frog experience.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests down the bayou as Tiana hunts for the secret ingredient needed to take her party over the top. Guests will encounter characters they know and love — like Prince Naveen and Louis — as well as meet a ton of new animatronic characters. The attraction will also be opening in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Resort.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is also set to open sometime in 2024, although a specific date has not been announced.
