New Disneyland Name Confirmed – What We Know
Disney Parks fans around the world are buzzing after recent discoveries hinting at the possible name of the next Disneyland theme park, currently in development in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. While the The Walt Disney Company has yet to officially announce the park’s title, public records and domain registrations have provided some of the first clues about what Disney and its partners might be planning.
On May 7, 2025, The Walt Disney Company announced plans to build its first-ever theme park in the UAE. Located on Yas Island, the destination will feature “signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi.”
Like Tokyo Disney Resort, the Emirates Disneyland will not be directly operated by Disney. Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Miral, who is described as the “leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences” in Abu Dhabi, to develop the waterfront vacation destination. The third-party company will operate the park under license from Disney.
According to a report from Forbes and public records, the day before the May 7 announcement, Disney Enterprises registered several domain names tied to the new project: emiratesdisneyland.com, disneylandarabia.com, disneylandyasisland.com, and yasdisneyland.com. They also acquired disneylandabudhabi.com, which an unrelated individual had previously registered in April.
Just because Disney has taken control of these domains doesn’t necessarily mean any of them will be the park’s official name. Currently, all the links are inactive, and most of the domains are set to expire one year from registration. Disney could, of course, renew the domains if needed. The company likely wanted to secure multiple options to avoid conflicts or bidding wars for the domain associated with the theme park’s eventual official name.
While the official title remains unconfirmed, Disney and Miral Group have shared some details about the Abu Dhabi park’s design and scope. The park will feature an indoor layout and include the first-ever “modern Disney Castle,” promising to be the most technologically advanced Disney park to date.
Disney promised that it would feature “signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi.”
