Mr. Beast Called the New “Mickey Mouse,” Reveals Disney Replacement
The most popular YouTuber in the world is expanding his empire in ways that could rival Disney. Just months after renting out Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park for a viral video, Jimmy Donaldson—known online as Mr. Beast—has his sights set on creating his own theme park.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Mr. Beast revealed his big plans to transform his growing company, Beast Industries, into a diversified conglomerate like The Walt Disney Company. According to Jeff Housenbold, CEO of Beast Industries, Donaldson is essentially the company’s Mickey Mouse.
“There’s such a bigger opportunity here than just being a YouTuber,” Housenbold said. “Jimmy will always be the cornerstone, but Jimmy doesn’t scale. He already filmed 26, 27, 28 days a month.”
The company is shifting its focus to creating an entertainment universe that extends far beyond Donaldson’s YouTube videos. Housenbold aims for Beast Industries to build out its own “cinematic universe.”
Mr. Beast has become famous for videos like “$1 Vs. $1,000,000,000 Yacht,” “Last To Leave Circle Wins $500,000,” and “1,000 Blind People See For The First Time.” These videos often include a philanthropic component, which has become a signature of his brand. His YouTube bio boasts impressive achievements such as “Raised $20,000,000 To Plant 20,000,000 Trees” and “Removed 30,000,000 pounds of trash from the ocean.”
In addition to his viral videos, Mr. Beast has expanded his brand into a wide range of products, including his ghost kitchen hamburger chain, MrBeast Burger, as well as his Feastables chocolate bars and Lunchly snack brand. He even debuted his Amazon Prime show, Beast Games, in 2024, where he gave away over $25 million. The show has already been renewed for two more seasons.
As Bloomberg notes, Mr. Beast has more social media followers than almost any company or person in the world. If anyone can sell anything, it’s Donaldson. Next, according to the author, Mr. Beast is “flirting” with the idea of his own theme park.
This wouldn’t be Mr. Beast’s first journey into the theme park world. Earlier this year, he made headlines by renting out Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park for a video titled “$1 vs $500,000 Date,” which now boasts over 141 million views.
This stunt followed another theme park-related venture in 2023, when Donaldson rented out Fuji-Q Highland in Japan for his video “$1. Vs. $250,000 Vacation.” In 2019, Mr. Beast filmed “Last To Leave Roller Coaster Wins $20,000” and “I Won Every Prize At A Theme Park” at Six Flags Over Texas.
