In order to help protect guests from risk of the Zika virus at Walt Disney World, Disney started putting bug spray in resort rooms last year. Â This prepared guests at no extra cost to ensure that their family had extra protection available while on vacation. Â We have received confirmation that the bug spray has now been replaced with mosquito wipes. Â The packet of mosquito wipes is resealable and includes 15 wipes. The packets are super convenient for guests to carry about the park with them, and even slip into their pocket.
We suspect that this change could be in order to ensure better guest safety. Â If guests are left to spray a bug spray for themselves there is the risk that it could get sprayed in their eyes, in a child’s eyes, that the liquid could leak in their bag into food items or cause other problems. Â The wipes in the resealable package are not only convenient, but also allow the protection to be applied in a more controlled manner that limits the risk of a dangerous exposure. Â We haven’t received official confirmation if this is the reason, or if there are other reasons for the change, but this could definitely be a valid reason. Â Disney puts a very high regard and consideration on guest safety.
What do you think of this change? Â Do you think the wipes are more effective than the spray?
