Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opened at the Magic Kingdom on June 28, 2024, marking an exciting new chapter for the theme park and The Walt Disney Company as a whole. With this new ride opening in Florida, many are looking ahead toward Disneyland’s version of the ride, which is expected to open later this year.

While construction picked up rather quickly following the ride’s closure in 2023, California’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been trialing behind Florida’s. Over the last few months, Disneyland has made significant progress on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, with guests recently confirming the park’s version of the ride will be quite different than the original ride in Florida.

Twitter/X user Enzo captured footage of the new ride, including a banner featured toward the start of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

This banner is featured on Magic Kingdom’s version of the ride but is noticeably smaller.

The new banner featured in Disneyland’s version of the ride is much larger than the one in Florida. It’s also interesting to note the banner is shaped entirely differently than its Florida counterpart.

Earlier this year, it was also confirmed that the ride’s interior would be changed, with Disneyland featuring an animatronic unique to its version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

A video showing off the new banner was also shared on Reddit by TheDisneyScoopGuy.

Despite offering the same story and ride experience, Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s original Splash Mountains both featured unique twists, with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure continuing this tradition.

In 2020, The Walt Disney Company officially announced that its iconic log flume ride, Splash Mountain, would be closing forever and that a new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, would replace it.

This decision followed years of controversy and was met with a significant amount of backlash from fans. Many considered Splash Mountain to be one of Disney’s “untouchable” theme park rides, similar to other attractions and experiences like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Peter Pan’s Flight.

Splash Mountain officially closed in 2023 at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts after decades of operation, with work quickly starting on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a brand-new experience that takes guests on a journey through the Louisiana Bayou alongside characters and critters from Disney’s classic 2009 animated film, The Princess and the Frog. Since opening earlier last month, the new ride has been met with positive reviews, ushering in a new age for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
